Enlia: The Interview with the France Based Pop Singer/Songwriter


Question:Please tell our readers who you are and what you do?

Answer: Hi, I’m Enlia ! Singer-songwriter and music producer from France !

Question: How would you describe your style and genre?

Answer: Alternative, Synth Pop, ethereal things…

Question: Who are your biggest idols ever? Dead or alive, musician or non-musician?

Answer: There’s a lot of admirable people out there, I don’t know where to start ! My biggest idol since childhood is Mylène Farmer (french singer-songwriter) maybe, for her fantastic career, her entire art and her personality.

Question: What was the biggest mistake you made when you started making music and what would be the number one tip you could give to a newcomer musician?

Answer: I can’t think about a mistake in particular. Things progressed as they had to.
I can give two important tips though: protect your creations and keep aaaaall your stems !

Question: How do you get gigs? Can you share any tips?

Answer: Actually, I’m not ready to play gigs (yet !) so I can’t say.Question: What has been your biggest challenge right now? Have you been able to overcome that challenge? If so, how?

Answer:Quit my speech-language pathology work to make a living with music after months of hesitation wasn’t an easy choice. I was working as a part-time session-singer too and it was hard to be committed to both jobs. I finally quit last week, so I bet my biggest (financial) challenge is coming !

Question: How do you promote yourself? Do you have any specific promotion tips for other musicians?

Answer: To be honest, I’m terrible at promoting myself so I just stay natural ! Learning marketing basics can’t be a bad thing though.

Question: We meet again in one year. What has happened?
