Read the Aconex Interview below and share it on social media.

Please tell our readers who you are and what you do?

Hey guys,
My name is Oliver and my producer-name is Aconex.
I started making Progressive and Bigroom House in early 2015!

How would you describe your influences and how have they changed over the years?

I feel like over the years I fixed my taste onto a solid base of specific Progressive and Bigroom House tracks, but also got more open towards other types of EDM and also other genres of music.
When I started listening to Electronic Music in early 2013, I didn't like Bigroom at all, but now I love it!

What´s new right now?

Actually after a longer creative break I got a mass of upcoming tracks ready or atleast quite near finished!
Also I recently in the last month released 2 tracks:
One on FreeMusicWave:
And one on Lucid Network:

There are definitely more to come!

Are you a superfan of anyone? How did you become a superfan? Do you remember how you become a fan and what turned you into super fan? Have you ever thought about why you´re such a fan?

I'm not really a super fan in that sense.
I love KSHMR & TWIIG tho!

What was the biggest mistake you made when you started making music and what would be the number one tip you could give to a newcomer musician?

I didn't really do a big mistake. Surely there are things I could have done better with more knowledge, but you learn them over time!

How do you get gigs? Can you share any tips?

Do you have good promotion tips for other musicians?

Try to make contact with other producers!
They will often share your new tracks and you can share theirs.
Also free and paid promotion-services are a good way to get some exposure!

Do you have insights on how to grow your audience on soundcloud that you want to share with our audience?

Try to release several songs on one label, so people will recognize you and now, that you can make more than only one good track!

What has been your biggest challenge right now? Have you been able to overcome that challenge? If so, how?

My biggest challenge in music production is the motivation to finish tracks.
I have dozens of partly finished tracks laying around, which I create in a matter of days, but need months to actually get myself to finish one of them.
Sometimes I just pressure myself so much to do it, so I finally do it!

How do you personally discover new music?

I usually check out some chosen labels, watch top-lists on youtube and listen to fresh music from my soundcloud buddies!

Once you discovered new music, do you tell others about the new music/artist you discovered? If yes, how exactly?

“Not often! Mostly I just listen to the new music, but most of my friends don't listen to this genre, so they aren't as interested.

What is your number one tip to improve your music production or songwriting skills?

Don't waste time searching for pirated plugins!
Choose some plugins you like to use and understand and use them!
You can get a great sound without pricey programs!
Also listen to the tracks you like and try to fill holes in your track by looking for these little things your favourite music has there.

What is your best tip for those who struggle with finishing their tracks?

I know for myself, that finishing a track is the hardest part!
Just try to push yourself to do it. Maybe say to yourself, that you will work 30 minutes on the track today, tomorrow and so on.
At some point you will be finally good to go! But don't rush it, take your time to finish it!

We meet again in one year. What has changed?

Hopefully you and your loved ones are still healthy and happy!

Eh, and I'm rich as f##k!
