Please tell our readers who you are and what you do?
My name is Ahmee and I'm an artist from Queens, NY. Ever since moving to the US from Thailand, I've had a passion for music and have been making it for over 10 years. However, I've only recently started taking it seriously since 2016. I mainly rap/sing/engineer my own music and make hip hop, although I'm constantly expanding. I just recently dropped a new single called "Strangers", featuring Ted Park and Rosé. My goal is to push the boundaries of music and write music that will speak up for people. Whether that be relationship problems or mental issues, I want people to be able to find comfort in my music. Another goal I have is to represent the Asian American community in the music industry.

How would you describe your influences and how have they changed over the years?
I grew up listening to so many different types of music that my influences are so vast. I'm also always constantly searching for new artists and bands to listen to especially in the underground scene. Right now, my favorite artists are nothing,nowhere, Oliver Francis, Yung Bans and Like Moths To Flames. As you can see, they're all unique styles so I'm surrounded by all these different sounds. If I were to describe my sound, I wouldn't really be able to pinpoint it accurately since it's constantly changing and evolving. I've heard people tell me that my music is like a combination of rap and rock and that it's chill. The only thing that has changed about my music taste is that I'm more focused on discovering more rap artists rather than rock bands at the moment.
What´s new right now?
Like I said, I just dropped a new single, "Strangers", featuring Ted Park and Rosé. I don't have any solid plans for a mixtape or album at the moment, but I plan on dropping a major project before the end of the year. I'm focusing on releasing more music so that people can really get a better idea of who I am and what I do. I'm also trying to collaborate with more artists and develop my brand. You should expect at least a new song a month though.

What has been your biggest challenge right now? Have you been able to overcome that challenge? If so, how?
My biggest challenge right now is staying focused on the music. I'm in school and also am working, which means that I get distracted a lot. I've been struggling with pushing myself to complete a song and just work on music related things.

What is your number one tip to improve your music production or songwriting skills?
In terms of song writing skills, don't overthink it. Just let it flow and happen because then it'll be forced, which will just leave you unsatisfied.
