Please tell our readers who you are and what you do?
Hey, what's up!? My name is Aiden Jude. I am a DJ, producer, and label owner from NYC, and have been doing this for around 5-6 years or so. The genre that I would categorize myself under is EDM (really anything inside that category), but I tend to produce in all sectors of music. My father was a jazz musician for a period of time about 20 years ago, but he has always continued to be involved in music, so when I was younger, there was constantly artists like Pat Metheny, Allan Holdsworth, and Herbie Hancock playing around the house. Throughout my childhood I dabbled in learning a number of instruments including the trumpet, saxophone, guitar, and of course, piano. At one point, my father also had a commercial studio for a few years, and I would hang around there after school with the engineer watching all of the indie bands, rappers, and producers flush in and out. As I spent that time in the studio, the engineer started showing me how to produce music using digital audio workstations. At around the same time, I also discovered the world of electronic dance music, and instantly fell in love with the genre. From there, I just kept working on creating music, improving my DJ skills, and eventually opening a record label named 'Crowd Records' which has gathered hundreds of thousands, to millions of plays over the span of about 4-5 years, and has released music from very well known artists such as Dzeko & Torres, Morgan Page, Cazzette, Erick Morillo, plus numerous other as well.
How would you describe your influences and how have they changed over the years?
My taste is ALWAYS changing. Last year, or last month even, I was producing something completely different from what I am producing now. I understand the value of sticking to a specific sound, and I generally try to, but having come from such a musically diverse background, I find it hard to do so. My influences have definitely changed greatly over the years, mainly because as you go to deeper into the world of music, you discover new genres, artists, songs, and musical equipment. When I started making dance music, some of my electronic music inspirations and influences included Axwell, Calvin Harris, Steve Angelo, Alesso, Avicii, and others like this. While I still do love the music that comes from them, my sound as an artist, and my personal taste in what I listen to has changed drastically. Nowadays, my music influences stretch all the way from indie and rock bands like Linkin Park, Blink-182, and Phoenix, all the way back to the jazz I was listening to around the house when I was younger. I try to take all of these different musical styles and sounds, and find ways to incorporate them into the world of electronic dance music.
What´s new right now?
Over the past few months I have really just been focusing on creating a lot of new music, and finalizing those perfect tracks to run with. I'm ecstatic to finally announce the release date for my next single, which will be coming out on Trap Nation's very own, Lowly Palace, on February 1st. The song is kind of a combination between the classic alternative/indie-rock live band sound, and the trap/future bass downtempo sound.
