Please tell our readers who you are and what you do?
I'm Archduke Redcat, I'm from Queens, New York, I'm a freshman in college, I rap, produce, and sometimes dance. I mainly make hip-hop music right now, but I came from EDM and still do make a lot of subgenres of EDM (mainly synthpop, house, trap and jersey club). I've been releasing at least a song a month since January 2017, that includes a rap EP and a synthpop album. I'm just really passionate about music.
How would you describe your influences and how have they changed over the years?
My biggest influences are singer/rapper/producer/dancer T-Pain and singer/producer/multi-instrumentalist Savant. They both have very unique brands of music and always dare to do exactly what they want no matter what genre or what is popular. T-Pain was the first artist to really make auto-tune his sound and Savant has probably made every genre that's ever existed. I wanna be as prolific as them. My tastes have expanded a lot over time because of people like them. When one artist makes multiple genres, you start to have an appreciation for all of those other genres. Now you can catch me listening to ANYTHING and trying to make ANYTHING. I've been saying for years I wanna be the frontman of a rap/ska/punk band, that's what I'm like.
What´s new right now?
I am still making music every month, I can't guarantee that going into 2018, but I will definitely have some kind of music released in 2017 for November and December. I have an album coming soon, several tracks are finished or near finished. Only a few left to really grind out. I have a whole lot of collaborations from all over the globe coming. I'm working on getting some shows in New York, I have the contact information for the right people, I just need to make things work out (Being 19 in a city of several 21+ venues is a light struggle). I also wanna make dance videos soon, people like dance videos.
