Please tell our readers who you are and what you do?
Archipelagus is a duo founded in 2015 and based in Milan. We (Bittoo Pirazzi and Diego Santin) met attending the same course of Sound Design, discovering creative affinity and similar productive directions.
How would you describe your style and genre?
We get inspired by artificial patterns and textures, geometrically transposed in our music. Songs are characterised by
ossessive and compulsory repetition of notes, arpeggios and rifs that slightly change during the development of the tracks. We use both samples captured with own recorders and synth sounds, mixing them with piano and guitar chords.
Who are your biggest influences and idols … and why? Do you have any idols? Are you a super fan of anyone? (Dead or alive, musician or non-musician)
Our style is a fusion of Tales of Us, Lake People, Recondite, Kiasmos and Paul Kalkbrenner, musicians that we consider as guides during production. We carefully listen to their tracks and we try to absorb the elements that we find interesting.
What´s new right now? What should our readers know about that is coming up from you?
During the summer we are going to be released within a German compilation but at the same time we will be busy performing live and sets in the Milan area.
