Assault Systems uk

Please tell our readers who you are and what you do?

My name is daniel parkes. I have been on the dj circuit for nearly 20 years playing many events, festivals and had many south coast uk residencies for top nights such as punchfunk, contact, tribal medicine, techment, techno therapy, eclat, amplified sessions, indigo, and many more. Well known for funky edgy floor filling techno sets with much diversity in the electronic genre. Producing under the alias Assault Systems for the past 10 years with already over 60 releases on 20 or more different record labels producing anything from ambient, breaks, house, tech house, techno, garage and whatever feels right at the time.

How would you describe your style and genre?

My style is very versatile going from electronic and ambient right through to house techno and garage. I have never mastered the art of focusing on 1 particular style but I always try to think out of the box and add my own quirky and unique detail in my production. I get inspirational from many great artists however I don't get caught up in the, how it should be done milarky as I think to be a successful artist you need to be bold, versatile, and most importantly be yourself. If you try to copy others I don't think you are being true to your own originality and personality.

Who are your biggest influences and idols … and why? Do you have any idols? Are you a super fan of anyone? (Dead or alive, musician or non-musician)

Certainly 80s electronica. However I have Far to many influential artists in my life to list here. Inspirational ideas can occur from absolutely anything in my opinion.
