Please tell our readers who you are and what you do?
Hello, I am an electronic music producer and DJ from Miami, Florida with releases on Sports Records and House On Wax Records.
How would you describe your style and genre?
My sense of rhythm is influenced from the tropics and have a minimalist style of house and techno drives the dance floor on pure groove.
Who are your biggest idols ever? Dead or alive, musician or non-musician.
Idols are weird man. Of course, there are many people I look up to that have done it before and have done great things but I would have to say my biggest idol is my SELF. If your looking for answers or guidance it is all within you. So lately, I have been trying to get out of my own way and just go with the flow.
What was the biggest mistake you made when you started making music and what would be the number one tip you could give to a newcomer musician?
A big mistake I made when I was starting out making music was trying to get every track I made signed to a label. Not every track is going to be release worthy. I recommend to sit on tracks for a little bit longer and see if there is maybe something else you could tweak to make it just a little bit better. The average lifespan of a track, once it is release, is not that long anymore. So take your time, there's no rush.
How do you get gigs? Can you share any tips?
Human connections! Eye to eye contact. Go to the parties you want to play at. Find out how you could get involved in the scene and send out emails. Most importantly, just be a cool person.
What has been your biggest challenge right now? Have you been able to overcome that challenge? If so, how?
I am lazy! That is definitely my biggest challenge. Maybe it is because I spend most of my time in the tropics but I am working on it. It is tough to go to the studio sometimes when it is a beautiful day outside and the beach is calling my name, but usually, after that beach day I get inspired and get back to work.
How do you promote yourself? Do you have any specific promotion tips for other musicians?
I hate promoting myself. Hey guys! look at me is so cheesy. I just try put out quality tracks, have memorable DJ sets, and just be cool to everyone I meet.
We meet again in one year. What has happened?
Better productions, better DJ sets, and an even cooler person than last year because it is all about growing and I will have another year of experience under my belt.
