Check out and share our Barkada (Tyler Stephen) Interview. This interview is part of our new Producer & Engineer Q&A Series. In this interview series we feature exciting producers, mixing and mastering engineers from all walks of life. As always: Share & Support!
Please introduce yourself real quick. Tell our audience about your background and how you go into doing what you´re doing right now.
Barkada is a solo project I started shortly after moving to a small apartment in Tempe, Arizona with an electronic music producer who goes by the name PLAYR2. During this time I was collaborating with a close friend and California based RnB singer Jasmine Tristina. We released a track together titled "The Scene". The track was released on Future Bass Records and climbed to over 1 million views in total.
Please tell our audience what projects have you been working on in the last years?
I am currently apprenticing with Record Producer and Engineer Doug Fenske at the CRE 8 Academy. I am looking for artists, primarily singer/songwriters, to collaborate with on creating a catalog of 25+ original tracks to shop to artists signed with labels such as Universal, Warner, Epic/Sony, Atlantic, and many more. I will not be releasing any of this music to my social media accounts while building this catalog, so unfortunately I will have very little published to my social media pages in the meantime.
