Please tell our readers who you are and what you do?
My name is BigEsoul I'm a DJ/Producer and I'm from Dallas, Texas. I Produce a variety of music from House Music to experimental Dance music. I also play guitar and Keyboard. I started off as a House music lover in the late 90's. I was going to underground warehouse parties and renegade raves in the middle of nowhere all over Texas. I fell in love with House music and drum n bass at an early age. I eventually went on to start spinning house music myself. My friends and I had a click called FBK (Funk Boy Krew) Most of us were Dj's some of us were taggers and even had some friends doing the hip-hop thing. We started throwing our own parties at different venues around downtown Dallas. It was the start of a life long love for me. I love playing out and making people dance. We had a good 15 year run off and on. Eventually, We all seperated as Artist to pursue our own individual careers and passions. We all learned a lot about ourselves and as artist. So Her I am almost 20 years later still deejaying and just getting started in some ways. Along the way of partying and living life in the club scene, rave scene and afterhours parties I got lost. I let the lifestyle take control of me. I started using hard drugs like ecstasy, cocaine and anything else under the sun to keep the party going. But it all recently caught up with me in the past year (2017) I had reached my rock bottom and wanted to get help. So i went to rehab out in California in February 2017. I have been clean and sober for 9 months now and started taking my dreams of creating music to a new level. I'm currently doing some of the best work in my entire life as a musician. It's amazing. The universe is amazing.
How would you describe your influences and how have they changed over the years?
My influences are all over the place. I love classic rock, 80 music, industrial and old school hip-hop, indie rock, indie dance, chillwave, and Obviously EDM culture is a huge influence on my style. But I try to incorporate all of those genres when making my own music and experimenting with different sounds. I'd say over the past few years I have been putting a lot of time and interest into the chillwave, synthwave and anything else wave type genre. i love the atmospheric sounds that help you escape and get those chills when you here them. Drum n Bass is making a huge come back in my life too lately.
What´s new right now?
I'm working on drum n bass project with a very special friend right now. He goes by Jumbii. he is currently signed with MalLabel. He is an amazing bass music artist on the rise so look out for him and check out his music. Our project will be really chill and instrumental. It's going to be really special I can feel it. We have 1 track finsished now and we are really excited to get an EP finished and hope to share it with the world really soon.
