Please tell our readers who you are and what you do?

Hi!
I am 19 year old music producer based in Stockholm, Sweden. My real name is Simon Sundström and I produce melodic house music under the alias "Buddhies".
I have during my whole life been in touch with all kinds of music, both as listener and as practioner. At the age of 8 I started playing the trumpet where my passion for music really took a turn. After been playing the trumpet for 2-3 years in orchestras and in school events I decided to move on and start learning how to play the guitar which I did for another 3 years. During this short musical part of my life as practioner I developed my sense and ear for the music which I have had good use of later in my career. In late october of 2013 I was introduced to the digital audio workstation FL Studio from a friend back in high school. I instantly got stuck and sat as many other swedish teenagers hours trying to learn the programme and to become the "next Avicii" by stealing his sound ;). After a few years spending hours and nights in my bedroom studio I started learning how to use my ideas and put it into practice, and also to find my own signature sound. Finding that right catchy melody has always been my passion and source of inspiration. In all of my tracks I always start with the chord progression and from there trying to experiment with different kinds of melodies. During the years I have been inspired by other melodic house artists such Avicii, Kygo and other upcoming swedish artists such Steerner, William Ekh and Martell.

How would you describe your influences and how have they changed over the years?

My influences has always been artists who dares to develop their sounds, even if their original sound might have been more successful. A typical example of that is Avicii and because of that, he has been a huge inspiration to me. My taste for electronic dance music might have changed a little bit throughout the years, but I think I will always be inspired by artists and tracks where you can hear that someone has put effort into the melodic part of the track.
