Please tell our readers who you are and what you do?

My name is Casanova. I'm a producer, DJ and live performer from Salt Lake City, Utah. I'm blessed to be apart of Priss Collective, Salt Lake Cities all female dj crew. You can check out the other ladies as well at our website.

How would you describe your influences and how have they changed over the years?

Growing up I had a lot of hip-hop and r&b type influences. During high school it was all over the place. Anything from jazz to Pink Floyd, Missy Elliott to Korn, whatever I was feeling at the time. I've noticed now that I'm producing those hip-hop and r&b influences are shining through more and I've found an undying love for trap and bass music.

What´s new right now?

Right now I'm currently working on a full live performance set. I fell in love with finger drumming over the past 5 years and I'm finally able to incorporate this into a live performance. As for upcoming shows, the PrissCo crew has another show coming up in Feb of 2018! Keep an eye out for details coming soon.

Are you a superfan of anyone? How did you become a superfan? Do you remember how you become a fan and what turned you into super fan? Have you ever thought about why you´re such a fan?

Jimi Hendrix has always had a huge impact on me. It originated from his quotes which intrigued me about his music.

What was the biggest mistake you made when you started making music and what would be the number one tip you could give to a newcomer musician?

The biggest mistake was releasing content when it wasn't complete. Getting so excited about what you've created makes it easy to get carried away and show everyone even when it's not complete. Perfect your craft. Be patient. When it's ready you'll know.

What has been your biggest challenge right now? Have you been able to overcome that challenge? If so, how?

My biggest challenge has been trying to decide what direction I want to take my music. I have such a broad taste in music that it's made it difficult to finalize things at times. I'm still in the process of overcoming this. One thing that helped me is finding what brings "feelings" to my music.

How do you personally discover new music?

YouTube has always been a great source for new music for me personally. This comes as a surprise to some but I always end up back on YouTube when hunting for new tunes.

Once you discovered new music, do you tell others about the new music/artist you discovered? If yes, how exactly?

“I have a group of friends I share music with. Usually i will send a link to whatever social media platform it's on.

What is your number one tip to improve your music production or songwriting skills?

Consistently pushing the next boundary. The best way to grow is to attempt something you never have. This expands your knowledge and before you know it you're implementing techniques of your own.

What is your best tip for those who struggle with finishing their tracks?

The way I overcome finishing a track is by laying out the entire arrangement. In the creative process I start with one section and from that expand and finish the arrangement first. Then I will move to the remaining portions and finish each section at a time.

Within the next 12 months I plan to have original content released and a complete live performance established from scratch.
