Please tell our readers who you are and what you do?
Hello! My name is CASS. I am a DJ/producer from Ohio, USA. Music has been a major influence in my life. I played five instruments growing up (drums, piano, guitar, clarinet and saxophone). Since going to university, I transitioned to DJ/producing and have been doing that for 5yrs.
How would you describe your influences and how have they changed over the years?
My influences in music range all across the board, with EDM as my favorite, but also enjoy rock, pop, jazz, blues, and musicals. My original influences include: Swedish House Mafia and Kaskade. Today you can find me listening to anything from Audien to Don Diablo to Skrillex and everything in between.
What´s new right now?
The 2017 year was a big one for CASS! Two highlights include performing as artist support for major talent like Hardwell, Deorro, Kungs, Lost Kings and more. In 2018, I hope to continue to build my brand, network and events. As well as produce and share more original music.

Are you a superfan of anyone? How did you become a superfan? Do you remember how you become a fan and what turned you into super fan? Have you ever thought about why you´re such a fan?
Steve Aoki is my biggest DJ and producer idol. As a Japanese American, I feel connected to his story and pathway to success. The industry needs more Asian artists

What was the biggest mistake you made when you started making music and what would be the number one tip you could give to a newcomer musician?

How do you get gigs? Can you share any tips?
I apply to festivals and events in my area. Start small and get bigger. And don’t expect to be paid. It’s about exposure and mixing good music for people to enjoy. Fame and money will follow if you’re good.

Do you have good promotion tips for other musicians?
Get out of the bedroom. Meet people and share your craft. Because people hire their friends even if they sick at DJing or make so-so music.

Buy premium. Follow others. Share your music. You never know when it’ll take off honestly. Do what you love and share it. Plain and simple.

What has been your biggest challenge right now? Have you been able to overcome that challenge? If so, how?
My biggest challenge is breaking out in the local scene. It takes time and networking to get gigs. So I am patient and try to apply myself to local venues and shows. As well as make friends in the business. It’s a collaborative but competitive industry
