How would you describe your influences and how have they changed over the years?
I believe when many DJs first started their career, they want to play the hottest, head bouncing , hard hitting tracks that packs every dance floor. I was one of them. I was first influenced by the big room genre through listening big festival headline sets by Martin Garrix, Tiesto and Alesso, Etc.
However, that quickly turned away people as I learned from playing a small house parties and from my mentor that music is more than just that. I knew I had to expand my knowledge and listen to more other genres. So I started listening to more smoother, meaningful and emotionally strong tracks from deep house, someone like Nora En Pure (Whom I still have lot's of respect for). Since then, I realized that deep house is a fantastic match for my personality. But I always knew something is missing.
Through a year of searching and playing at cafe venues, I wanted to reach to a broader audience. I knew I always had the love for 80s and 90s music. So I looked for remixes of old famous songs that I know. I discovered one that really inspired me was an re-edit of Rock with you by Michael Jackson by Dj "S". This has lead me to believe my true genre was Nu Disco.
