Please tell our readers who you are and what you do?
My name is Dylan a Dutch producer who produce Trap under the name CLRFL "Colorful". I like to add weird stuff in my music and dark noises. You could have heard my music on Hybrid Trap, Arabic Trap and Chill Trap. The last few months, my music is becoming more popular and gets supported by names such as Duskus and Creepa. A dream that I never expected to come true. You can find me on Soundcloud and Spotify, for those who want to take a listen: https://soundcloud.com/clrflmusic or https://open.spotify.com/artist/7Jn9UaD9ulFIeb0GTj9WTf
How would you describe your influences and how have they changed over the years?
I started making Deep House and Bigroom in the beginning. I soon realized that this was not my kind of genre to produce. I then tried the somewhat harder genres such as Hardstyle. I heard Future Bass two years ago and this opened my eyes. After a year I heard Snavs, Getter and Fabian Mazur for the first time. They made it happen that my style changed the genre of my current songs. I love to add weird elements in my tracks and to keep it nice and dark with a deep 808 bass line. I notice that I have only really started to get my own sound for a few months now. I want to develop further on my own sound in the future.
What´s new right now?
I just released Woke with my friend Mazcot on Hybrid Trap. I also did a remix of Rockstar by Post Malone and got a lot of collabs ahead of me. First a little holiday to Curacao, but when I'm back in Holland a lot of new tracks will be released. All will be found on my SoundCloud page: https://soundcloud.com/clrflmusic

Are you a superfan of anyone? How did you become a superfan? Do you remember how you become a fan and what turned you into super fan? Have you ever thought about why you´re such a fan?
I'm a huge fan of Fabian Mazur and Getter. I love the sounddesign and the dark energetic drop they can create. I also like the fact they are open for communication with there fans. You can hear there influence in my own tracks.

What was the biggest mistake you made when you started making music and what would be the number one tip you could give to a newcomer musician?
Don't get stuck in one specific genre. Learn from other genres and try to combine them. And make music because you like it not because people say so.

Do you have good promotion tips for other musicians?
As I said before I love to help people online so people will remember me and maybe help me in the future. Just be honest to yourself and others. If you don't want to collaborate with someone just say it. Don't ignore him or her because being a dick can bite you in the ass in the future of your career.

Do you have insights on how to grow your audience on soundcloud that you want to share with our audience?
Do not spam your track to people. Be generous, if you help people, people will help in the future and are willing to take a listen to your tracks. And I love to work with download gates. offering a number for free in exchange for a follow is a quick way to grow. Also making sample packs and offering them for free in exchange for a follow works well.

What has been your biggest challenge right now? Have you been able to overcome that challenge? If so, how?
I really want to discover my own "sound". I started this a few months ago and I think I'm heading the right way at the moment.

How do you personally discover new music?
Love to network with everybody I find on SoundCloud. It is always interesting to hear someone's music background. I also run a repost chain network were I get messages from people all over the world. Love to explore those messages and find new interesting stuff.

What is your number one tip to improve your music production or songwriting skills?
Learn from al the genres. Maybe some are not your cup of tea but will learn you a sounddesign technique you didn't know before. And learn from presets. Try to return a preset back to scratch. You will see that you come behind certain options that you did not know before.

What is your best tip for those who struggle with finishing their tracks?
Leave it. Start something new or don't produce at all. You'll will find the inspiration later on. But don't force yourself to finish it. You can force your creativity and most important is not fun to produce that way.
