Please tell our readers who you are and what you do?
My name is Quoc Dat, a 18-year-old (bedroom) DJ/Producer based in Hanoi, Vietnam. Music has always been an influence on my life since I was a little kid. From pop to hip hop to EDM, no matter the genres, I just simply love listening to any kinds of songs. . Currently, I'm playing bass music and producing any genres I feel like, even if it's EDM or hip hop. And yeah, I play the piano as well. Who says DJs can't be musicians right ? ? I feel lucky yet responsible for being the person I am today: chasing the dream and living in it.
How would you describe your influences and how have they changed over the years?
Back in 2012, I discovered dance music, never had I felt so addicted to it before. I started searching for tutorials online on how to DJ. It was fun and all, but at the same time, I wanted to give my own point of view in dance music, that's when I knew I need to learn to produce a track. I sat in front of the computers for hours to make progressive house, there is a few of my tracks that I enjoyed until today (and it is on Soundcloud). 4 years later, there were some considerable events that changed my life, my "music taste" was completely different as well. I love playing EDM as a DJ, but as a producer, I wanted to produce songs that tell stories in a way that dance music can't, since it could be a bit noisy to express emotions. I wanted to make songs that people would say it loud, like "aah, it kinda feels like he feels me, he knows my emotions", etc. And then, I did. It made me escape my own comfort zone and be more creative.
What´s new right now?
There is a new project talking about a life's matter with 2 of my talented friends in the making, many new original tracks as well as covers and everything in between. I'm uploading new songs and the date of live peformances will be announced soon. I don't know 2018 will lead me to, but I'm just gonna swing it haha.
