Please tell our readers who you are and what you do?
Hi everyone, I'm Days Are Dying from Italy. I'm a dj, producer and a compulsive vinyl accumulator. My pseudonym comes from the need to change the rules in a liquid society where uncertainty grips the individual and homologation brings to the alienation. In this context, music is the only point of solid reference of the postmodernity, waning in the darkness of the end of the day, arising then changed with the light of a new day that is being born.
The 2017 for me has been very important because after years behind the desk I've stated my production career releasing a single for Unreleased District (Barcelona, Spain) and a three tracks ep called "(Don't) Fight Your Demons" for Late Night Munchies (Seattle, USA) getting positive feedback from very important artist like Dennis Cruz, Balthazar & JackRock and may others. I'm always looking for atypic sounds that could changed the vision of music, imprisoned in a reality full of pre-set schemes. It's not an easy project but believe it is the first step to succeed it.
How would you describe your influences and how have they changed over the years?
What I feel to produce now is something that has inside some techno, melodic, neotrance and experimental elements. My influences comes from old school techno and trance, moving from more experimental sounds like Autechre and Radiohead. Over the years I focused more on the club revision of that styles, aiming to keep techno percussions and spatial melodies as my strength, maintaining anyway my roots.
What´s new right now?
I'm actually working on two ep which are going to be released soon on 2018 and I'm also taking part in a project of event organization called "Collettivo Ribelle" as dj, to spread some unconventional music around the centre of Italy.
