Please tell our readers who you are and what you do?
Who am I? An emotion. A human being who loves music and lives with it, through it. What I do is give emotion. There is nothing quite like a crowd of people floating in a certain state and receiving emotion through the music you mix. There is always an exchange of energy and happiness between a DJ and its audience. Ever since I was a child I was drawn to Jean Michel Jarre’s music. My story begins in 2009 at Radio DEEA, one of the most popular clubbing radios in Romania. Through the years I’ve been lucky enough to share a stage with Sister Bliss (Faithless), Sharam, Boris Brejcha, Nastia, Jose Maria Ramon, Simina Grigoriu and many others. I mixed at festivals too, such as Electric Castle and Felsziget and many others. In 2011 Vibe FM awarded me a place in the Romanian Female DJ Gallery, in the „The Beautiful part of Electronic Music” category. I also had a show on 06 AM Ibiza Underground Radio, called Girls go Underground and had a few guest mix sets on radios such as Ibiza Global Radio, Kiss FM Ukraine, Cigarra FM, Vibe FM.
And my story is just beginning.
How would you describe your influences and how have they changed over the years?
Around 2009, when I started mixing, it was really hard to stick to a single music style, it was difficult since I was just at the beginning of my musical career. I used to combine Tech House and Deep Tech in a very Romanian way ? my mixing style was chaotic.
I started mixing Tech House, Deep House, Deep Tech, Minimal, Minimal-tech, Electro House, Trance, but I find that Techno is what suits me best. As I’ve been changing my taste in music, I wanted my sound to become more and more filled with energy and my style became a little more aggressive. People responded very well to this approach. I like the sounds that take you to space, in a world that gives you strength and euphoria and reveal your inner warrior. I relate to Boris Brejcha’s style a lot and consider him an influence on me. I’ve been a fan ever since I was a teenager, and we’ve even shared the stage once, yay! That’s a dream come true for me. As far as production goes, I started several projects but didn’t really finish them for now because I find myself constantly evolving in many ways and music is one of them. I am currently working on a track but haven’t really decided where I’ll take it and I’ll just go with my gut and trust the flow that I’ll get from it. Your taste changes as you grow and is influenced by your experience and evolution as a DJ.
What´s new right now?
Right now I’m coming back after taking a break for a year, I’ve had some health problems and had to undergo three surgeries on my right arm. I managed to mix in Italy and The Moldavian Republic with one hand after my first surgery but after that, things took a turn for the worse and I had to stop altogether. For now, I have an event booked in Italy, the date is TBA. As for the track that I’m working on, I hope it’s going to be a very eclectic mix. I think it’s time I reinvent myself, even though it’s only been a year. You can also check out what I’m up to on my artist page, I’m posting updates regularly ?
