Please tell our readers who you are and what you do?
I am an allround DJ, Tech House Lover and electronic music enthusiast. My DJ name is "DJ Herminator" and i'm currently living in Sint-Niklaas, Flanders, Belgium. When not performing, I spend my time scouting the best dance tracks around the globe and mixing them in my own podcast, called "Hermination" ( https://soundcloud.com/djherminator1978/sets/hermination ) . Having spent many years playing at all of the major local parties, DJing special events and forcing people to the dance floor, I have had a lot of time to develop my own sound. For me, it's all about mood and a deep, hypnotic groove playing those tracks that get you tapping your feet and nodding your head without you realizing it, regardless of genre, tempo, style, or release date. Don't be surprised when you suddenly find yourself dancing. I always try to get those filthy beats flowing around the dance floor so that everybody has a good time so be sure you check out my sets. How would you describe your influences and how have they changed over the years?
I started as DJ when I was 16 years old. At the time the belgian house scene was quite big and I rehearsed my skills on vinyl tracks of Yves De ruyter, Bountyhunter, Jones & Stephenson, Cherrymoon Trax and many more. A couple of years later, my style evolved with a more groovy, hypnotic feel to it. Influences from DJ's that played at my favorite club in Antwerp, Café d'Anvers, pushed me towards the garage sound and to, what we currently know as, deep house and tech house. Nowadays I mainly play tech house, (hard) techno and deep house sets depending on the audience, location and event. The most important thing is that people have a good time when I'm performing.
