Please tell our readers who you are and what you do?
Having been born and raised in Montreal, it would be safe to say that I have been around music and art all my life, taking a huge interest in nightlife since my 18th birthday (I am now 21). Therefore, since Montreal has a huge variety of music and arts to experience, my taste in the former has changed over time. Originally being a big fan of electro house, I have toned it down ever since I began to DJ at my friends' house parties and larger events, now mostly playing deep and future house in my sets. In order to see what kind of music I enjoy mixing most today, please take a listen to one of my latest mashups here: https://soundcloud.com/jeremy-szpiro/nearer-future-dj-krookd-mashup
How would you describe your influences and how have they changed over the years?
As stated above, when I first took interest in EDM around the age of 16, I was most drawn to electro house along with the loud and heavy drops that come with it, almost feeling as if it took me to another place. Since this was before I really began to take DJ-ing seriously, since I began mixing, I have mostly been including deep and future house in my sets since I now understand that dancing to electro house is difficult unless one is at a concert.
What´s new right now?
In terms of appearances or concerts, I don't really have anything in line at the moment, although, since I am currently in school at Carleton University in Ottawa, because my name in the music scene is not as big here as it is in Montreal, I intend on beginning to DJ at the campus bar/club here, Oliver's. Hopefully, following this I should be getting gigs in bigger clubs downtown.
