Please tell our readers who you are and what you do?
Hello! I am DJ RKT! I am from a town called Jonesboro, Arkansas and I have been a DJ since 2014. I mix every bit of music that you could think of from deep house to dubstep to happy hardcore. I have been doing gigs here in Jonesboro for couple of years with a close friend of mine named Odium, as well as livestreams on Facebook with him and a few other DJ friends. I also played a couple of gigs over in Memphis, Tennessee, which are always fun! I am currently am doing a mixing series over on my Mixcloud page called REKTed it Mix! I will have more mixes coming out over there!
How would you describe your influences and how have they changed over the years?
Oh gosh lol
I was into people like Good Charlotte, Fall Out Boy, and New Found Glory in my younger years. Then that shifted in the 8th grade when I got into the metal scene with bands like Trivium, As I Lay Dying, Have Heart, and many others!
-My musical influences go all over the place! But they have definitely changed a lot over the years. My current influences include DJ Cotts, Bassnectar, Plastician, Thumpa, and Odium when it comes to current DJ influences that inspire me.
But other than that, there are so many artists who inspire me with their music! Shout out Gutta nation, Scotty B, Z-Dougie, FinntheDJ, Odium, Acaustik, Dwarv, PackBack, Slottur, Ellatrix, and so many other DJs and producers who keep me inspired!
What´s new right now?
I am going to post a new mix this month on my Mixcloud page!
I currently do not have any upcoming gigs this month, but I hope to have more gigs in 2018!
