Hey Young World, It's Drizzlé!
I am from the south suburbs of Chicago and I started to professionally DJ when I got into Dental School in none other then the Music City, Nashville, TN. The DD$ is a play on the Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S) Degree i'm pursuing and the Drizzlé is what my friends dubbed me in college when I use to rap and make beats. I DJ under the alias DJ ("Drip Drop") Drizzlé and produce music under the alias DD$ Drizzlé.
My sets are a mix of House, Trap, Hip-hop, EDM and R&B. I am open to to all types of music, since music is the perfect expression and control of emotions, ideas, experiences, ethos and moods.
How would you describe your influences and how have they changed over the years?
I am a 90's baby!! So late 90's and early 00's was "era". My musical influences are in the genre of Jazz, Funk, Classical, Hip-hop, Pop and Juke music. I grew up on a lot of music like Al Green, Prince, James brown, and Charlie 'the bird' Parker. Over time I started to explore Hip-hop, R&B, Rock, Pop and Alternative and got hooked. Around college is when I started to get into House, Electronic, Dance hall, Afrobeat and Latin.
I pride myself in at least knowing something about everything, and when I don't, I love to do my research. Having the chance to meet so many different types of people has blessed me with a eclectic taste. That taste is what I build my style/sound on.
What´s new right now?
I am currently working on a Mixtape and a Trap/hip-hop/House mix.
The on going Drip Lounge series which is a current Hip-hop/R&B mix, is coming soon to keep your abreast.
My last project was a Trap Christmas Mix I did for the holidays and a hip-hop mix, DripEmber apart of my Drip Lounge series.
I have lately been working towards getting settled in my other profession Dentistry, so no live gigs currently outside of private bookings.
