Please tell our readers who you are and what you do?

I am a dj and producer from a small town in Newfoundland Canada. I have been Djing since 2012 and picked up producing in late 2013.

How would you describe your style and genre?

I make all kinds of music but focus on progressive and electro

Who are your biggest influences and idols … and why? Do you have any idols? Are you a super fan of anyone? (Dead or alive, musician or non-musician)

My biggest influences are Hardwell, Avicii, Thomas Newson, and Martin Garrix. My favourite artist is Hardwell, he was the first to inspire me to make dance music.

What´s new right now? What should our readers know about that is coming up from you?

Well I just released my new track "One" on my own label "Mak Recordings" you can check that out on iTunes or any other platform you use. I have many more tracks that will be released in the near future. Also I have a few shows coming up and you can stay posted on my facebook page @dmakofficial

What was the biggest mistake you made when you started making music and what would be the number one tip you could give to a newcomer musician?

My biggest mistake was release the first music I have every made.. It is terrible and you can actually still get it on iTunes.. But dont make that mistake, wait until you make good quality before you release it.. Trust me

How do you get gigs? Can you share any tips?
Well if you want to get gigs as a "new" dj you have to actually go and talk to club owners/promoters, just tell them what you do and what you want to do, you might not get paid a whole lot but you have to start somewhere. When you get more recognized promoters and club owners will contact you.

What has been your biggest challenge right now? Have you been able to overcome that challenge? If so, how?
My biggest challenge is balancing my "Artist life" with my "Normal life" and actually I have not found a solution haha
