Please tell our readers who you are and what you do?

My name is Driftbomb and I'm a 22 year old DJ/producer from Winnipeg, Canada. I make dance music, primarily progressive house, future house, and a bit of future bass. I've been doing this project for two years now but I have been producing since I was 14 years old. I started making music by making simple beats on a PSP game called "Beaterator" from Timbaland. I didn't have my own computer so that was the only way I could make my own beats, and then I'd export them to my SD card and put it on the family computer. Then I ended up downloading a trial of FL Studio on the family computer and from then on I was hooked. So I bought my own computer, loaded it with the full version FL Studio, a bunch of drum sample packs, some VST's, and I was off. I went under a couple of different names until I came up with Driftbomb in 2015. I have released a couple tracks, my last one being "All In My Head" on Housesession label "BANG IT!" back in 2016. Since then I took most of 2017 off to spend some time to myself to reflect and plan on where I want to take the brand next. I've also been doing some travelling and some live shows with other artists, as well as working on new records of course!

How would you describe your influences and how have they changed over the years?

My influences come from many genres. As a kid I grew up listening to classic rock, punk rock, and alternative music. I was influenced at a young age by bands like Green Day, Weezer, RUSH, Metallica, and The Tragically Hip to get into playing guitar which is where my music career sort of began. Then when I was 13 or so I started listening to dance music, and that's when I realized that I wanted to start making my own music. My biggest dance influences are Deadmau5, Daft Punk, and Tiesto, they're the reason I got into making electro house in my early stages. Nowadays I listen to literally everything. I'll listen to some alternative music and then switch to a country song, then shift to a rap song and then go into a dance track. My taste definitely got more diverse over the years, now it doesn't matter the decade or genre its from, if it's good I'll have it in my library. Listening to such different pieces of music give me more inspiration to make unique tracks of my own.

What´s new right now?

Right now I'm coming out of the little hiatus I took last year. I'm working on and finishing up a lot of new music to be released in 2018. My new tracks will be different, it will still have my usual progressive house style, but I've also been messing around with some future bass, drum and bass, and hip hop. I don't have any live shows planned at the moment but that could always change at any time! I'm also going to be starting up my radio show "Bombsquad On Air" once again so get ready for some sweet mixes and playlists to vibe and dance to. Stay glued to my YouTube channel too because I might be starting a new tutorial type of show really soon where I'll be giving back to the producer community by giving some tips and tricks I've learned over the years to make your productions even better.

Be sure to follow me on SoundCloud, Spotify, and YouTube to be the first to hear my new records when they drop! Also be sure to follow me on my social media accounts to follow my adventures and stay up to date with what I'm up to.
