Please tell our readers who you are and what you do?
Hey! Thank u guys so much for having us! It's always a huge honor to be supported by people like you.
You guys are doing an incredible service giving more exposition to some talented artists that really deserve it. Therefore, we think this industry definitely needs more people like you ^_^
So, let's start introducing ourselves.
Our name is Dubsound. We're two young music producers & dj's from Catalonia, Spain. We know each other since we were just kids, I think we started our friendship when we were only 3 years old, so it's been a while haha.
Now we are almost 20, and the fact that we've shared a lot of expiriences together, our really passion for creating music, and our vital needs to share it with other people is what inspired us to create that musical project together.
At this moment we are re-inventing or really starting our professional career. I said re-inventing, becouse untill now, we had the opportunity to release a lot of music and to play at some events, but we always had the feeling that we could offer a better version of ourlselves. We spent the entire last year focused, just thinking about some simple questions that every artist should do to himself. Some simple questions that can really help you to find your personal style, and some simple questions that can turn you to an incomparable and attractive artist for the big audience. Who you are?, Where you wanna go?, What you really want to transmit? and specially… What is your personal vision of this world? I mean, we personally think that every human being has something unique and special to tell to others, and now we're sure that we'll really want to answer all that questions in the form of music.
How would you describe your influences and how have they changed over the years?
Well, we're definitely having to feel lucky for being always surrounded by all things that are really inspiring for us.
I'm talking about the people, like friends and family; our environment, the music that we love, the places where we belong… Moreover, we feel so inspired by retro video game's sounds. You know, we spent our entire childhood like any other
happy kid at that time, playing legendary games like The Legend Of Zelda, and enjoying all that old and lovely nintendo stuff haha.
I think our best way to write music, is creating an image of a place or a scene in our head based on all that personal influences, and try to put music to that scene.
It works so good, and it helps us to write more and new music in a faster way.
There are too many artists that really influence us, but if we had to choose some of them, we would definitely choose people like Porter Robinson, Flume, Madeon, Daft Punk… These guys did too much for this industry in a very unique and personal way respectively, and we absolutely love them because that.
Although electronic music and dance culture are an important part of our lives, we also love to spend time listening some indie, funk, jazz, trap and pop rock songs sometimes. There are a lot of underrated musicians in that kind of genres that we really love, so we are actually taking some influences of those amazing artists in order to unite it with our music.
We just removed all our old productions from our media in order to give our upcoming sounds the importance that really deserves it. Our new sound is so emotional, melodic and varied, and as I said before, we're trying to unite our personal and music influences to any music genre that's out there haha so just expect the unexpected ?
What´s new right now?
2018 is looking good for us. We're just signed with one of the most important commercial labels in Spain and there is a lot of stuff coming up for you guys this year.
We're collaborating together with some super talented singers and producers in order to offer our best stuff ever. We have some pop, future bass, synthpop and drum n bass songs waiting to be finished and released, so that's all we can say at the moment!!
For those who really want to know how our new tracks will sound like, you can check our one hour set that we did a couple of weeks ago exclusively for the most important radio in Spain, "Maxima Fm". You can find all our musical influences right there, so hope you guys enjoy it as well as we did mixing it. ^_^

Are you a superfan of anyone? How did you become a superfan? Do you remember how you become a fan and what turned you into super fan? Have you ever thought about why you´re such a fan?
Absolutely Yes!! Our biggest inspiration it's the one and only Porter Robinson!!
Maybe he doesn't need an introduction. I mean, he's probably one of the most respected musicians in the entire electronic industry, you'll never hear a bad word about his work. You may like it more or less, but Robinson's talent is undeniable, and the way he changed the entire music industry is completely admirable.
We're absolutely in love with the fact that he's not only creating awesome music. He's creating a cultural movement around it. His philosophy, his super melancholic and emotional songs, his unique and incomparable signature sounds and his personal artworks and visual content are one of the biggest reasons to love his work. We have also seen that there's running an amazing theory through all the internet who says that all Robinson's music is connected between it.
Porter is an incredible storyteller, so it wouldn't be surprising if it were true haha.

What was the biggest mistake you made when you started making music and what would be the number one tip you could give to a newcomer musician?
Well, we're nobody to give advice to others, but honestly, I think all the years and experiences that we lived inside this industry, has been able us to see this incredible competitive market in a more perspective way.
The only advice we can say to new people is the next one.
BE DIFFERENT!!
Well, we find too many guys introducing themselves nowadays like "Hey, I make music that sounds like Martin Garrix" Oh okay, so you're good creating sounds, but wait a minute, relax yourself and think… Why the fuck do you wanna sound like Martin Garrix? (for example)
I mean, if people want to hear some Garrix music, they will listen his original songs not yours, so please, take influences but don't copy. You have to try to sound like YOU! Yeah, it's not an easy way, but it's the correct one.
I'm saying that because for a long time we have been like this kind of new artists. Always trying to sound like the top artists of the moment, but we were wrong. It's never too late to learn from your mistakes and try to do it right, so now we're focused on creating our very own music. Please, trust in us and try to do the same. Find yourself, your motivations and enjoy the process of expressing yourself. It's the real meaning of being an artist!!
