Please tell our readers who you are and what you do?
Hello everyone!
This is Tansu Kayacik from Turkey, born in 1992 in Izmir. I’m living in Istanbul and working as a circus artist and gymnastics / acrobatics trainer in the day and making music at night.
I passed my childhood in gymnasium, with training for national / international competitions as a rhythmic gymnast. I did not study music even if I always wanted but music was always in my life since I born.
Thanks to my father; the first musician in my life. ?He teach me how to listen and hear, which is too important. I stated with singing and playing guitar with him.
I left gymnastics, started to high school and continue to singing with amateur rock-metal bands and experienced to sing in very different styles and languages. I was also very curious about other instruments; especially violin and piano. I bought my violin with my very first salary from high school internship and started to play by myself. After a while, a friend of mine helped me and gave me methods about how to improve my skills on violin.
I moved to Istanbul in 2014 and started to work with a circus group. I had not enough money to rent a room and I was staying in our training area, now named Cadir Studio. A friend’s family donated a piano to the studio. So I had a chance to spend time with my dream instrument beside my trainings.
With these talented multi-discipliner people in our circus group, we created Dok Circus Company. ?I still continue to work as performer, choreographer, trainer; music editor for performances and dj for events whenever needed.
In September of 2016, I made my first dj performance at 11.th Turkish Juggling Festival with Ozan Algul.
In May of 2017, bought my main equipment , which is a capable computer to make music and midi keyboard. After that, a discovery started about what I want to produce.
Beside that, I start to record digital podcasts / mixtape series with no analog controller and shared them as imperfect as they are to show the progress.

How would you describe your influences and how have they changed over the years?
I was very into rock-metal music in high school but never stuck in one genre, it was always assorted. As a vocaI was very impressed by Tori Amos, Björk, Pj Harvey, James Labrie and Maynard James Keenan.
On these days, I’m into synth, indie, melodic, dark, ethnic elements harmonized with electronic music. I admire these names: Aphex Twin, Maceo Plex, Röyksopp, Vitalic, HVOB, Moderat, Etienne De Crecy, Dionigi…
Soul, funk, future garage, dub, experimental/dark jazz, progressive/alternative rock-metal, contemporary/classical music, hip-hop, melodic techno are some other genres I influenced by.
What´s new right now?
I’m working on my new composition nowadays. I’ll be recording the vocals on February.
Also, I will host a very special friend and a talented composer from Berlin on next days. I will be learning too much from him as a newcomer producer.
My next live gigs on 17 – 25th of February, for Turkish Highline Carnaval at Antalya. I’ll be playing at opening and closing party and will be training acrobatics, juggling, music and highline the whole week.
And the other gig at 13.Turkish Juggling Convention, of course! 24 – 30th of September.
I will be also continue to work with Dok Circus Company and Cadir Studio.
