I am Edicius(Pronounced: E-Diss-E-Yus, because a lot of people have trouble with that). I am a 21 year old Bass Producer who vents through his music. Every track I make, I like to include a piece of myself, or whatever emotion I'm feeling at that current time. I believe that's what makes art, art. Most of my original tracks all have a single emotion tied to it in some way or another. I prefer to make liquid dubstep and future bass when I'm either feeling down, melancholy or just relaxed and lying around. On the other side, I have a whole EP set aside that was filled with pure anger and rage and I'd equate it to this scenario; Midnight Tyrannosaurus, Code: Pandorum and Mits all went out for a drink and one thing lead to another. All I want to do is give people something they can listen to and truly feel it. That's my goal. Everything else is a bonus.
How would you describe your influences and how have they changed over the years?
Currently my only influence is life itself. Sometimes things are too screwed up to want to stay stuck around it, and that pushes me more into my DAW so I can work on some music and get that escape. When I first started out, I primarily made Hardstyle and my biggest influence back then was Coone, who is also one of the best Hardstyle DJs I've ever seen perform live. Over the years I slowly became a huge bass head, thanks to my father actually. He introduced me to Skrillex' first LP, and DeadMau5's "4×4 = 12", then I discovered artists like Sub Focus, Midnight Tyrannosaurus, Must Die, etc. and from there I became all about deep bass, head banging and going as crazy as I can. But now I just let my emotions drive me.
What´s new right now?
Currently, I have two produced EPs waiting to be released, but I am working on becoming more financially stable so I can afford professional grade mixing and mastering, because that is a science in itself, that I don't believe I am very good at. I don't want to release these without the quality truly being there so people can enjoy it for what it is. I am hoping to have this done within the next two to three months; then, I can send them out for submissions and hope for the best. Although, I have no problem sharing my music with people privately, so if anyone does want to hear anything finished, feel free to give me a shout and I'd gladly show you a tune or two.
