Please tell our readers who you are and what you do?
My name is Emax and I am a 17 year old artist from Italy.
My interest in music was sparked at the age of 8, when I saw the opera "Giuseppe Verdi's Aida" in the theatre.
Since then I played classical and acoustic guitar and alto saxophone in the conservatory in my city (Carpi) and my musical interests varied from classical music to dance music.
I have also been studying opera music in the famous conservatory of Modena " Vecchi Tonelli" , where very big artists such as "Luciano Pavarotti" forged their voices.
I love to collaborate with singers and artists from all around the world on different dance and pop projects.
My main goal has always been to invoke feelings and emotions through my own style of music.
I started two years ago to record all the sounds I heard. I published some remixes in my facebook page using common sounds, trying to make a melody out of them.
How would you describe your influences and how have they changed over the years?
My interest in music is extremely wide, I like classical music : I'm very inspired by Bach, Pachelbell or Mozart.
On the other hand I also like rock bands like Guns'n Roses, Led Zeppelin, The Cure, as far as singers that made the story of music like Freddy Mercury, Elvis Presley, Mario Biondi and Luciano Pavarotti .
I try to combine different sounds, always searching for a new and different melody and rhythm.
What´s new right now?
On the 18th of January I have released a song , "Word Of Chain" , featuring Donna Maria, a very young and gifted English singer.
What I tried to do with Word of Chain, was to express my ego, bringing some fresh sax licks and combining jazz influences with new sounds.
I produced this song recording some sax licks in my studio with my alto sax.
Word Of Chain was finished by May 2017 and in June 2017 I decided to send it to many record labels in the pop and dance music scene.
In particular, a very famous record label was interested in the song and wanted to sign a deal with me.
I was super excited for that.
They kept me waiting for almost 5 months when they eventually decided in November 2017 that it didn't fit perfectly their music style.
It was a big fail for me.
I had to decide what to do with Word Of Chain. I was super lucky because Donnamaria had some contacts with CDJ record label, they believed in my project and decided to release it in all the stores and release the videoclip.
I have a lot of projects upcoming in the future, with many singers. Right now I'm producing a track with a singer from my city, and some groups of musicians and producer from Italy, Germany and England.
I hope to do lots of gigs in the future , many of them have already been confirmed!
