Please tell our readers who you are and what you do?

My real name is Margaret O' Sullivan and stage name being Femmepop. I am and electronic based singer/songwriter/producer and I have recently toured Europe with my latest Album 'Dancing With Myself', which was an 8 track electronic/synthpop album written, recorded, and produced by myself. I mostly used my Ableton Push 2 in writing the album - it was new and it is an amazing instrument. I wanted to educate myself on the instrument while writing the album - it was a great journey!

How would you describe your influences and how have they changed over the years?

I have many many influences and they grow with every year! Growing up I loved Suede, The Sundays, Madonna, Prince etc Now I tastes have obviously remained for those bands but they have grown and they are many many influences. I tend to listen to a lot of female based electronic synthpop now. Generally speaking the boys still get the most exposure and fuss so I have always focused on the underdog, hence women in music. I lcurrently have Nite Jewel, Geneva Jaccuzi, MAAD, Charlie XCX, Julia holter, Tei Shi, and lots more. I also listen to alot of synth based music from musicians I have previously worked with and enjoy like Robert Parker and Timecop1983. There are too many to list.

What´s new right now?

I am currently writing for a new release. I have just managed to get a Korg Minilogue and I am enjoying locking myself ( When I get a chance) away with it and writing. It's a dream and I adore it. So I'm just learning it and finding my way but it feels very natural and easy so I am kinda wishing all these years instead of my guitars I had a lot more synths in my possession instead!!
I plan on playing more gigs in the New Year so looking at various offers for bookings etc. I have a plan to play somewhere very very far away and exciting but can't confirm anything on that yet. There are lots of things happening in the New Year so stay tuned!
