Please tell our readers who you are and what you do?
Hi. My name is John Hanover. I was born and raised in Syracuse, New York. I've been playing instruments and making music since I was in second grade. I started off as a drummer but got into piano and learning how to produce around seventh grade. Throughout high school, I produced under a variety of aliases and experimented with many different sounds and styles. I've gone under the name 'Feyde' for a few years now and don't plan on changing it anytime soon. I try not to limit my sound to a single genre, however, I love to make R&B, lo-fi hip-hop, trap, reggaeton, jazz, soul, and anything that I'm interested in at the time. I make music for me and because of that, I usually make songs that I would want to listen to.
How would you describe your influences and how have they changed over the years?
My influences come from all over and have changed many times. I grew up on classic rock from an early age. My dad always played it in his car and around the house. My mom, however, listened to jazz and soul which definitely shaped my sound currently. Punk rock dominated my middle school years until I discovered dubstep and EDM. From there my taste and influence became very eclectic. I got into Spanish music and reggaeton my junior year of high school which really shook up my style. Now I just listen to and produce whatever I'm in the mood for.
What´s new right now?
As of right now, I'm trying to put out more content on my SoundCloud. I LOVE making quick flips and putting them up on my page. As for bigger releases though, I am trying to put original content on iTunes and Spotify (possibly an album). The best way to find out what I'm up to is to follow my twitter.
