Flash & Dash

Read the Flash & Dash Interview below and share it on social media.

Please tell our readers who you are and what you do?

Hi Guys,

we're Flash & Dash, upcoming House duo from Mantua, Northern Italy, rispectively 17 & 21 years old.
Our key word is "BASS". If you're searching for huge and deep basslines, you're in the right place. We produce mainly G-House stuff but we also love bass house, Tech House and Electro House.
Flash & Dash is a quite recent project. We started this project in early 2017 and released 6 tracks in these months. Most of them are singles, but we also teamed up with Canadian-based talented producer Robbie Koex to bring you our Electro House tune "VOID", which you can find here:
We gained support from some EDM superstars in these months, like Sunstars, SDJM, Lumberjack, Sergio Mauri, Maximals & many more.
We're always looking for quality. This is why all of our tracks are professionally mixed & mastered by MEP Studio, owned by our big friends Bout (releases on Protocol Recordings, Big & Dirty, Mixmash etc.).
Be sure to keep an eye on our project in the future, we won't disappoint you!

How would you describe your influences and how have they changed over the years?

Our biggest inspirations are for sure House Lords Tchami & MALAA, whose label "Confession" is for us one of the highest points reached in House music in the last years. We're always searching for inspiration, this is why we don't stick only to EDM but we listen to a lot of genres. Our taste is for sure changed in these years.
Before opening this duo project, we used to produce alone as NOIZ3R & Gianmarco Bottura. We produced mainly Melbourne Bounce tune, which we still find really dope but kinda old. Gianmarco has continued taking care also of his solo project, mainly by djiing around our town and releasing and releasing tunes in different styles.
I also opened a new side project just a few weeks ago, called JMR, where i sometimes release Trap beats and other strange experiments. Just one rule: just emotions, no genres. Keep an eye too on our single projects if you want!

What´s new right now?

We released 6 tracks in 7 months, which is good enough for us for this year. We always prefer to bring you lesser track but with a better quality instead of a lot of bad tracks. Our last tune of 2017 "BEEP", came out just yesterday on MusicHub Recordings, label of our mate MOT. We're ready to rock 2018 in the best way possible. We've already finished 3 track which only need to be placed on labels. 2018 will be also the year, in which we will start playing in clubs around our town. We're sure 2018 will be Flash & Dash, so stay tuned.

Are you a superfan of anyone? How did you become a superfan? Do you remember how you become a fan and what turned you into super fan? Have you ever thought about why you´re such a fan?

As already said, we're huge fans of Tchami and MALAA, for their basses, their energy in livesets and for their personality.
Moreover, personally I'm a fan of Will Sparks. His productions and energy is outstanding. I saw him playing live 3 times.

But my biggest inspirations is for sure Headhunterz. A complete artist, who made me discover Electronic Music and fall in love with it.

What was the biggest mistake you made when you started making music and what would be the number one tip you could give to a newcomer musician?

When I started producing 3 years ago, I sucked. I sucked at producing, as well as working with social media. And even if I sucked, I pretended to upload all my stuff on Internet, which i think wasn't the best thing to do.
I would recommend to a newcomer musician to start practicing a lot on producing before uploading his stuff online and getting support, and also to manage a few socials, but in a really professional way.

How do you get gigs? Can you share any tips?

Do you have good promotion tips for other musicians?

The same of the answer above, also for Facebook & Instagram.

Do you have insights on how to grow your audience on soundcloud that you want to share with our audience?

We always purchase some promo plans (repost) for our tracks on Soundcloud. We know some Networks that repost our tracks on their channels after paying them. Money is not the way to achieve success, we don't buy plays. But for sure money can help a bit to get some more real exposure.

What has been your biggest challenge right now? Have you been able to overcome that challenge? If so, how?

Our dream is to release on a big label, and we're still working to achieve this goal. Confession would be amazing, as well as Klosman's GURU Recordings.

Once you discovered new music, do you tell others about the new music/artist you discovered? If yes, how exactly?

[gravityforms action=”conditional” merge_tag=”Yes” condition=”is” value=”Yes”]
What is your number one tip to improve your music production or songwriting skills?

We are a duo, so the key of our creativity is putting our ideas together. We sometimes not agree, but that's not a problem. We always trying to make our ideas fit together.
I would recommend the readers to experiment using also strange sounds and producing weird genres, just to improve creativity. Maybe you could find your own style!

What is your best tip for those who struggle with finishing their tracks?

If you're stuck, try listening to other music, maybe you'll find the inspiration to finish your tune!

We meet again in one year. What has changed?

Maybe nothing will happen,or maybe we will meet again in one year and we will have gained a bigger audience in these months, as we hope. One day Sunstars told us that in maximum two years the people will start talking about Flash & Dash. We hope so, but we don't pretend to be listened. The key of success is to work more and to talk less, so let's work hard for it.
