Please tell our readers who you are and what you do?
My DJ name is Flavor Trigger and I am originally from Canada. I have recently moved back home from a three year period abroad in Scotland and was fortunate enough to play various gigs in Aberdeen, Edinburgh, Glasgow, and London. Two nights that stick out from my time overseas was the gig in London or more specifically in Brixton, and the headliner asked me if I wanted to play B2B with him after my timeslot and the other night was in Edinburgh playing at The Hive. Both nights atmosphere were honestly incredible and I was able to sneak in a lot more underground tracks that I had been wanting to test out on a proper sound system. The crowd completely went off chanting the classic "here weeee f***in* goooo." Such feels.

How would you describe your influences and how have they changed over the years?
My taste has definitely changed since I first got my set of decks many moons ago. Moving abroad and becoming involved in the UK scene was a major part of that without a doubt. I honestly had not listened to much techno before jumping across the pond and immediately fell in love with the genre. Seeing acts such as Carl Cox, Kolsch, Ben Klock, Boys Noize, Groove Armada and Annie Mac to name were a major part of this new found love. Before my time in the UK, I spent two summers attending the Shambhala Music Festival in Nelson, BC and 100% without a doubt that is where my passion for DJ'ing evolved. One moment in particular stands out, and that is watching DJ Nu-Mark playing an all vinyl set and somehow an inflatable beach ball landed on one of the turntables and knocked the needle off the record and with one of the most fluid motion the DJ knocked the ball away and put the needle back on. My good mate and I looked at each other with utter amazement after we witnessed firsthand such a feat. Lastly, I wanna give a shoutout to my wonderful mother as my love for soul and funk music stems from those ski trips to the mountains blasting Motown classics year after year at the top of our lungs. Wow, I just got a wave of nostalgia mentioning that thanks Mom!
What´s new right now?
Currently working on two mixtapes at the moment and wanting to take some time off the live gigs. One of the mixes is a throwback mix of my time in the UK and is a compilation of some of my and my bromigos favorite tracks. I'm sure the itch to play out will hit me soon, but for now, I am content just spinning records at home and catching friends gigs.
