Please tell our readers who you are and what you do?
My name is Foks, I have been making music for around 4 years. I started making house and future bass, then moved on to Drum and Bass. Recently I have been really into Liquid Drum and Bass, as it has a huge contrast between hard hitting and extremely chill. I am from Newcastle, UK, I am 19 years old and studying electronic music production in University.
How would you describe your influences and how have they changed over the years?
I started out listening to house giants such as deadmau5, then moved onto sub genres like future house with Oliver heldens and Curbi, after future house became super saturated I moved onto more obscure genres like Ghetto Funk and Electro swing with producers such as Slynk, ProletR and WBBL. After all this it all came full circle when I came back to Drum and Bass, with artists like Jaydan, Heist, Noisia, Camo and Crooked and Netsky, these are all people I had listened to from a very early age with the help of my older brothers music taste. This is where 90% of my music taste comes from now, with 10% of other obscure genres like future bass (san holo, droeloe) and Trip hop / glitch hop.
What´s new right now?
I have 1 EP out called "Sake" get it….foks – sake. That is available on bandcamp at https://foksdnb.bandcamp.com/album/sake. I have two forthcoming releases for MOR records (https://soundcloud.com/morrecords) on the 29th of January and another release end of February / Early March. I am also making an album for the Label Audio Massacre (https://soundcloud.com/audiomassacrerecordings) which is in the works.
