Please tell our readers who you are and what you do?
GLIA is a Berlin based audio engineer, music producer and a DJ. Growing up in the late 90s she was influenced by the new electronic spirit in Europe. In the early 2014 she established her own brand GLIA and from than on achieved many accomplishments as a performer. From performing almost in every club in her home country Slovenia she later started performing abroad, where she got summer residency in a popular Croatian clubbing destination Kalypso, Zr?e. From that point onwards she performed in Spain, played her set on Ibiza Sonica Radio and performed with some of the key figures in electronic music. After many radio shows and interviews she graduated as an Audio Engineer and is currently a student of Audio Production. Influenced by multicultural environment her dark evolving musical style is always changing by her impressions from her surroundings. In 2017 she released her first EP Poltergeist and gradually released remixes from artists like Pan Pot and A?ii. Her release Infirmum charted on Beatport Hard Techno #1 and Techno top 100. Besides producing her own music and performing she has been involved in film score creation, sound design, recording and mixing.
How would you describe your influences and how have they changed over the years?
When I was a child I adored disco that was popular at that time, this progressed to house music in the 2000s and graduated in liking all sorts of electronic music sub-genres even drum and bass. I enjoy many different music genres varying from rap, jazz, R&B, house, disco and techno.
The breaking point to completely switch my sets to techno was a gig in Valencia, Spain. From that point onwards techno has been on the menu as a main dish. I usually get inspiration and influences from real life situations and imprint them to my productions and sets. I love to see how the music makes me feel and how the crowd reacts to it. I take the imprint of combining both and create new music. Artists that influenced me over the years began with Fat Boy Slim, Underworld, The Prodigy, Stardust, Uniting Nations and so on. The last few years the most influential for me have been Jeremy Olander, Dense&Pika, Stimming, Anna, Maceo Plex, Luigi Madonna etc.
What´s new right now?
On the 25th of December a new single Revive is coming out in a three year anniversary compilation of Toxic Recordings.
After New Year a new remix will be released from A?ni – Decay.
On the 18th of January I have an upcoming gig at a popular Berlin club and gallery Urban Spree.
You can find me on all popular social media and streaming platforms, where you can stay up to date with new music, sets and gigs.

What was the biggest mistake you made when you started making music and what would be the number one tip you could give to a newcomer musician?
The biggest mistake most newcomers do is start uploading their tracks straight away, which results in bad production, bad mix, bad master and looks unprofessional. It is understandable that people want to share their art with their friends (followers) straight away, however at the beginning this should be avoided if you want to make music professionally. In my opinion it is better to wait a few years and work every day on your art before you present it to the world.
A lot of newcomers put too much weight on mastering. The mastering engineer is not a wizard and he will not make your track better if it is badly produced, arranged and mixed.
Do not be afraid to ask for help! It is advisable to get help for your tracks from other people. It is normal that you cannot be the best in production, sound design, arranging, mixing and mastering. This is why it is advisable to get help from other people. Ask your friends or professionals to help you with your shortcomings.
One common mistake is as well thinking that achieving something comes easy – it does not and it requires a lot of hard work and knowledge.
Things will not happened if you do not do them and there is no easy way.
