Please tell our readers who you are and what you do?
Hi,
i'm Groove Daniel, i'm italian artist based in Berlin and i'm working and enjoying music since almost 15 years. I'm the founder of Lounge Squatt that consists in a record label, agency & event promotion ,since 2014 i'm a part of Berlin Invasion collective i 'm dj resident in Mensch Meier (our home), i take care of bookings and i launched the label with a single with my partner Konik Polny & the voice of MZ Sunday Luv.
We're touring with the project in Europe and also outside of Europe ,the project is growing up and we're satisfied of our work.
Also to these i'm working with another important party called The Raven co/hosted with Max Durante in Griessmuehle and suddenly in Hoppetosse where we use to run parties with finest drum and bass & deep techno
In my background there are over 500 parties residence in different cities & countries, there's a true passion for vinyls that i used to collect for years and selling online.
I grow up with the roots of soundsystem , i use to organize illegal raves,street parade & many activities with my old collective with our own soundsystem .
I have supported the drum and bass scene in Milano for years since we started to promote parties in a squat and we promoted the national scene and every wednsday night we put flame in different basements
I used to run parties also in Turin the Italian Detroit the city I consider most important in Italy for my musical growth, and the hub of north italian rave scene.
How would you describe your influences and how have they changed over the years?
I think to be honest, i've been always focused in these years on bass music & techno.
Obviously the sound has changed and for example i'm not playing often drum and bass anymore. But the spirit the selection of sound is a reflection of the past in these days. I never followed the commercial sound or hyped and fashion ,even if is not easy i always tried to be an undeground artist a thing that in these days is not easy….
The taste of my sound came out from my past, i use to mix psychedelic sound that came from psychedelic rock of my father with the breakbeat electronic sound that came out from Uk.
What´s new right now?
There are several news for the nearly future
Next week i have a release out on a various artists for the Belgian /German label SUB records with my alias project HybriD (with my partner Joseph Diel) ,after this i have some gigs in Italy (Bologna,Rome & Milano) and on 1st december we have our last Berlin Invasion party of the year,this will be the first time since 3 years that i will play not on the mainfloor but i will play an extended dj set of 4 hours in the Teather where i will present the new Berlin team of my Lounge Squatt with 3 tasty liveset and one dj set ,don't miss this.
