Hash-K Liveset

Please tell our readers who you are and what you do?

I'm a man. 32 years old from france.
I've started to do music as DJ during 4 years and now I'm composer, producer and liver on digitals instruments since more 10 years. I'm playing my music everywhere I go in bar, festivals, free parties or in any place where I can.

How would you describe your style and genre?

I'm doing different style like electro dub and jungle with the nickname of dubstatik. And I'm doing dirty techno & hardtekno as Hash-K Liveset. I do what I like and I like lot of styles of musics so I mix all styles I like in my music. My music is in constant evolution, lots of things influence my work like what I feel in the moment or the place where I'm because I travel a lot.

Who are your biggest influences and idols … and why? Do you have any idols? Are you a super fan of anyone? (Dead or alive, musician or non-musician)

All music can influence me, I'm not super fan of 1 artist but I like lot of one in differents styles. I'm really open in music and I can like anything. Most of times I don't listen sames styles music I do. I hear it already enough!! In artists I really like I can name prodigy, gorillaz, bonobo, tha trickaz, crystal distorsion, wax taylor, high tone, tetra hydro k, massive attack, laurent garnier… and many more. I really like artists who are always pushing limits in what they do.

What´s new right now? What should our readers know about that is coming up from you?

Yeah I works all times on my music for doing tracks or prepare livesets. I'm in contact with some records studio who want to release tracks of me.I have begin a new project electro dub and jungle as dubstatik so I prepare my first EP for this project. In parallel I'm working on a new techno liveset with my other side project. You can listen what I do as Hash-K Liveset here :

What was the biggest mistake you made when you started making music and what would be the number one tip you could give to a newcomer musician?

I've doing several mistakes when I was a newcomer musician… I think the most important is to know what style you really like or want to do and know what instrument you need to arrive at what you want. And now it's not easy because you have LOTS of instruments to do any types of music.

To get gigs the most important is to have a good adress book, meet the good person or know how to sold what you do and your music.

What has been your biggest challenge right now? Have you been able to overcome that challenge? If so, how?
I thinks it's always a challenge to compose new sounds, new track or whatever. But my biggest challenge for the moment is my new project "dubstatik" because I'm doing some new styles of music I've never compose before and it's a new approach of my music. I think you have to pass lot of times on instruments you use and it's important to know what instruments correspond to what you want to do. And for sure work, work and work!!!
