Read the HomelessGuy Interview below and share it on social media.

Please tell our readers who you are and what you do?

I am HomelessGuy.Not really though :D! I'm 17 ,from India and I've been making music for about a year and a half.I released my first track during January 2017.I'm very passionate about music and this is basically what I do everyday. My artist name kind of gives an idea of my passion.I've had 2 commercial releases on Itunes,Google Play and other music distribution platforms but I prefer to release my work for free.I like almost all genres of EDM but Progressive House and Future Bass move me the most.I don't limit myself to any genre and I'm all about trying and experimenting new ideas.I release at least one track each month. So you can always expect new music from me (including remixes).

Here's is my latest track 'Better Alone' :

And this my favorite track by far!

I'm more into making emotional music for general listening. But here's a ruthless Big Room House track 'Destroy'.

I make music for fun. This is want I want to do all my life. You can e-mail me anytime, about ideas, collabs, business or just to know more at

How would you describe your influences and how have they changed over the years?

Growing up in India means your major influences are going to be from Bollywood. We have a lot of songs in our movies and this is the mainstream music here. From sad songs to party songs,we're proud of all! Now,I'm trying to incorporate a part of this influence in my music.I found about electronic music when I was in Middle School.I used to hear it playing in YouTube videos. That was when Deadmau5 was dominating the scene and he was the only producer that i know of.I was really fascinated by this music and wanted to make it every since. At that time I used to literally make tracks in my head, hum melodies or even try to alter tracks using audacity.

It was not until 2013 , when I become very much into EDM and this became my favorite form of music. My favorite artists were Avicii,Calvin Harris and David Guetta.Later Martin Garrix came and he's been on top of my list of favorite artists since then.
Progressive House defined EDM for me.

Over time with the introduction new artists and ideas my taste as definitely changed.Just last year I wanted to make Progressive House. Now I'm more about trying everything.Especially Future Bass.Martin Garrix,Illenium,KSHMR,DJ Snake,Major Lazer,Zedd,Mike Williams,The Chainsmokers,Jay Hardway , are some artists whom I can listen to non-stop.

It really depends on my mood , what I'm going to work on.I like to make emotional chords and melodies on some days and groovy rhythms or aggressive music on the other.I'm very versatile and use bits of everything.I like to combine multiple vibes in my tracks.

What´s new right now?

I have lots of new releases coming up which were delayed. The second track of my 'Realization' EP will be out soon,it's a Progressive House with a new vibe.I'm also working on many remixes. My next release is going to be a remix of Martin Garrix & Troye Sivan – There For You which shall be out within a couple of week/s!

I'm most active on SoundCloud ,follow me :).If you like my music , please help me grow by Sharing my tracks.Your feedback really matters.

Are you a superfan of anyone? How did you become a superfan? Do you remember how you become a fan and what turned you into super fan? Have you ever thought about why you´re such a fan?

I'm a superfan of Shahrukh Khan.I've been one since childhood :D.I feel so inspired by him , by his work.He came from nowhere and reached the top!He belongs to my city.I feel I'm very similar to him.I dream to make it big like he did, and his story motivates me.

What was the biggest mistake you made when you started making music and what would be the number one tip you could give to a newcomer musician?

I don't reckon of mistakes production wise but yeah I would say releasing my first two commercially by digital distribution platforms and expecting people to buy them.Of course the quality was poor.No one will buy a track of a newcomer,it's better you build a fan base my releasing your music for free.

The number one tip would be to be patient and make music for the sake of your passion.Don't think about career or money, enjoy yourself and enjoy the process.

What has been your biggest challenge right now? Have you been able to overcome that challenge? If so, how?

My biggest challenge is to find time to make music.I have coaching classes on weekends,I'm a science student. My friends and cousins support my work but I'm still not able to win my families support. With exams, homework I hardly get an hour a day to make music since I'm managing the promotions on my own.I'm not able to overcome this challenge but I really like to make music and that's what I'm focusing on right now.Finding a breakthrough is really important for me.

What is your number one tip to improve your music production or songwriting skills?

You don't need to know everything to make good music. There's a lot to know and it will take you years.Just know the basics, learn to mix and master decent it's important. But above all what's important is creativity.Play around in your DAW,play with Synths. The best teacher for you is you yourself.

If things don't work out, plan out a track before you start producing it.Take a pen and make notes.Write about what elements you want to add, what vibes you want to go with.Hum a melody and save it as a voice note.Good tracks are mixed(hypothetically) even before they're made.Planing out this way will help you with the mixing since you'll not be adding random sounds again and again.

What is your best tip for those who struggle with finishing their tracks?

Your 'creative zone' would be for about 2 hours. The initial stages of making a track are the most important.Make most use out of it,not focusing on technical elements, like mixing.

Have a goal for each track.Know your starting point and ending point, don't think to 'go with the flow'.This may work but only if you're experienced and you know how to make things work once they start going.Take a day break from your track and do something other than music.Keep working/improving on the mix until you think there's nothing left to improve.I seek for feedback from my producer and non producer friends before preparing the final mix and mastering.

We meet again in one year. What has changed?

Yes, I have plans.Studies are getting on my nerves and I'm worried about passing high school. But now I think its time to take my career to next level.I plan on doing gigs at local club and make more music.I want a make an album,I'm looking for vocalists (contact me if you're one ? ).
I hope to have more than a thousand SoundCloud followers.Maybe get a release on a big label, get my track played on a music festival. We'll see what happens,I'm very chill about it.
