Please tell our readers who you are and what you do?
We are HookShot, an EDM duo from Orlando, Florida, comprised of Noah Sharp and Damion Normand. We met in college at Full Sail University and ever since have been making Trap and Future Bass music together.
As for our origins, Damion began playing music at the age of 12 when he received his first guitar. Throughout high school Damion played in several bands in different positions including lead guitar, bass, and drums. When Damion turned 18 he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. While in the Marine Corps, Damion was introduced to electronic music and fell in love with it, he downloaded his first DAW and DJ software and began learning how to produce and DJ. At the end of his term of service he decided to attend Full Sail University in order to advance his knowledge of music theory where he met Noah in his second month.
Noah began music at the age of 6 when his father was trying to grow his business as a Karaoke DJ. Noah would sing and his father would tweak the sounds and settings until he found the perfect sound for his young business. From then on, Noah sang often, getting better and falling in love with music. In middle school Noah found his love for instruments starting as a euphonium player and slowly expanding his repertoire to most brass instruments and keyboards. He got his first DAW while in his freshman year of high school and spent the next three years learning the ropes in house music. His junior year, he got accepted into Full Sail University and the year after that received the Creative Minds Scholarship for $20,000.
We have been attending Full Sail for nearly a year and a half and have been producing together the entire time.

How would you describe your influences and how have they changed over the years?
We figure that our individual interests are what make us unique so here are our personal interests.
D: A lot of my early influences come from grunge music with acts such as Nirvana and Pearl Jam being my favorite throughout my formative years as a musician. As I've aged my musical interests and influences have developed with the style of music that I write. My main influences now come from artists such as Slushii, Boombox Cartel, Skrillex, and Deadmau5.
N: As for my influences, many of them come from the most impressionable times of my life: middle and high school. I'm a horn player, I found myself listening to a lot of classical and jazz pieces. I love Jazz to this very day, its the only station I have on in my car. This melded with my EDM influences, Avicii, Darude, Skrillex to name a few. I love trying to bridge the gap between jazz, funk, and EDM.
What´s new right now?
We are currently in the process of recording our first studio album titled Holdin' Weight. We have started a GoFundMe in order to help pay for the expenses involved with the recording process.
