Please tell our readers who you are and what you do?
I'm just chasing a dream trying to get to this money while still remaining a 100!!!!!!! As far as my music goes, I guess you can say I have a mix between the south and east coast. I like for my beats to bang at the right moment but i like to focused more my lyrics. Trap is getting old and is causing a problem with the youth everybody wants to be the same sound the same and don't realized that we are falling into a trap. I try to switch it with my music. If I am talking about the streets, drugs, or w/e there's a message behind it. Everyone knows about that flashy side of the trap but not the struggle what that person is really going thru, feelings, thoughts, w/e it is, in a hopes to change our ppl views on how we should live our lives.
How would you describe your influences and how have they changed over the years?
My musical influences comes from the oldies. I grew up with my Pops and all he played was the oldies from the 60s-80s. That’s when I fell in love with music, the live instrumentation, the vocals, and what they were talking about. Over the years got older and rap was really big. Feel in love with that because of the realness of the music. Someone was relating to me and showing the world what’s it’s like to be black. I’ve never got into the new current music that we hear now on the radio, which is why I decided to rap
What´s new right now?
I released my first album at the beginning of 2017 call 1119Harlem. It’s a collection of memories of growing up where I’m from in Kentucky and how what I saw and did in my life that’s help shape and change my life. Got a few videos on YouTube, just search JayQSmoov to find them. The upcoming year should expect two more solo releases. A project titled Smoov Flava and another titled Love Trust and Honesty.
