Please tell our readers who you are and what you do?
Im a 26 year old Rapper from the Bronx, New York. I mainly focus on hiphop, but i sometime find myself testing the waters of R&B lol. My approach to music is a little different than the typical 20 something year old. I grew up well rounded. I had a mother who would play old jams by artist like prince, slick rick, and MJ. I was heavily influenced by old school music in general. Its easy to get caught up in whats hot, and rap about what everyone else is. The challenge is being the one to take a chance and compose something unusual. My latest project "wat it do?" is an uptempo beat produced by Gustav Strazdinz. https://soundcloud.com/jesseocasio/wat-it-do-1. The song has more of a dance vibe which is what the people need more of in my opinion. I like to focus on my wordplay and delivery. It puts a smile on my face seeing peoples reactions to cleverly placed metaphors and similes. Check out some of the tunes and see for yourself. https://soundcloud.com/jesseocasio
How would you describe your influences and how have they changed over the years?
i have a VERY diverse range of artist that have influenced me. from artist like Prince, Joe, Slick Rick, Big Daddy Kane, EPMD, Lupe Fiasco, Kanye west, Wale, Jcole, Kendrick Lamar, DMX, , Nas, and Jay-z,
What´s new right now?
i Recently Dropped "wat it do" but have much more on the way. I can never focus on one song so theres about 5 in the works right now. My goal is to always have new heat dropping for the people. The hunger has to stay the same even as u see yourself being received more and more. I have a Fun track coming up to a classic instrumental. Its Tupac's "Do For Love". It should be finished and ready to release it within the next few days.

What is your best tip for those who struggle with finishing their tracks?
If there is ever a point where an artist hits the "wall" my suggestion is put that song no the back burner. Start working on another project, and in doing so you may get ideas for one of the unfinished tracks.
