Please tell our readers who you are and what you do?
My name is emmanuel jonathan garcia but i go by JNZO. I am from oklahoma city, Oklahoma and come from a hispanic background. I fell in love with electronic dance music a few years back after attending my first music festival in Dallas, Texas. From that moment i knew that someday i wanted to experience festivals from the DJ's point of view, i told myself i wanted to someday be up there playing my own mixes and my own music for thousands of fellow ravers to enjoy just like i do. In late 2015 i decided to try and start producing my own house music tracks with some friends. inspired by some of my favorite producers like tchami, malaa, and joyryde, i really wanted to go with that dark deep and heavy G/Bass house style. To date i have released 5 original tracks, 1 remix, and 3 mixes on my soundcloud page and am currently wrappin up my upcoming 3 song EP "Lights out".
How would you describe your influences and how have they changed over the years?
My infuences range from Tchami and Malaa all the way to the sounds of Audien and Zedd. I first started producing more progressive house style tracks but once i got more into the scene i fell in love with the sounds of music of Koos, Loge21, Malaa, Matroda, and Nukid. Since then i have stuck with making deeper more bassy style of house.
What´s new right now?
I just finished up playing my first live show a few weeks ago (almost had an anxiety attack) and currently working on getting more shows booked, while also finishing up my 3 song EP which should be out in early March.
