Please tell our readers who you are and what you do?

Hey all. I am Kabbalistic Village. I have been producing electronic music for the last 7 years. I played guitar for many years and had lots of musical ideas but nobody to play with and nowhere to record them. Fast forward a couple of years and some of my friends introduce me to electronic music mainly Psytrance. I knew right away that I wanted to be making that type of music. I got myself a laptop and FL Studio and started learning it all. I started producing all types of music..whatever sounded good to me. This was right around the time that EDM/Dubstep was blowing up and everybody was trying to sound the same. I wanted to have a commercial sound but also something unique. I eventually moved onto producing TV/Film style music but with more of an electronic sound and my main project right now is writing exciting music and selling it on a large online stock music marketplace.

How would you describe your influences and how have they changed over the years?

I started off producing really intense Psytrance and listening to whatever Psytrance i could find. I really liked the intricacy of the production and the energy but i was also very much influenced by rock, orchestral, metal and blues music growing up so I also loved writing music with more melody. I found more experimental artists like Aphex Twin and took influence from there. I started writing a lot of chill out ambient music. I started incorporating lots of Asian and Indian instruments into my music like Sitars, Ouds and Flutes. I needed to make money so i started selling stock music on AudioJungle and in my portfolio I have over 150 tracks in all types of styles. I tend to avoid really heavy dubstep and EDM these days even though some of my older tracks are mainly in those styles. I try to focus on music that has more melody and groove.

What´s new right now?

I am always putting out new music and right now I am working on a bunch of new tracks which will be out shortly. I am also getting back into DJ'ing because I want to start playing live. I would love to get my hands on a Sitar so that I could write more Indian music which I am loving these days.

Writing quality music. I have such a strong desire to keep putting out tracks weekly but I recently started to slow down and am trying to write much better music and work on my overall sound.

What is your number one tip to improve your music production or songwriting skills?

Learn your DAW inside and out and try to write something that goes against the rules of what you listen to. If it sounds good then it is good.

What is your best tip for those who struggle with finishing their tracks?

Take a break and open a new project and start messing around with some new ideas. Sometimes writing something else can give you fresh insights on the older track. Your tracks dont need to be 4-5 minutes long. Sometimes it is better to end the track before making it more complicated and sounding like a whole different song.
