KALIBANDULU BIOGRAPHY

Kalibandulu was founded in Saronno in 1999 by Rebel T but takes shape thanks to the first shows behind the Consolle of Pergola Tribe, the historic club of Milan, known throughout Italy for its Reggae and Dancehall shows.
In the year 2000 they performed for the first time at the reggae festival Rototom Sunsplash in Osoppo, winning success; so in 2001 the crew completes with DJs Bush Doc, Powa D, Major Larry and the mc Bob Bob Fire.
Two years later, in 2002, Bob Fire returns to live in Salento and organizes a series of events under the name of "Big Things" in which perform the major Sound System of the scene, promotingKalibandulu throughout the peninsula more and more.
It's in 2004 that DJs Moiz and Mad Mike join the crew and in 2006 enlisting Dj Fast and the graphic Bando, everyone from Mesagne, form the "Salento" team of the sound that has become affirmative in the music scene is preparing to make the first steps in the world of Sound Clash and mixtapes.
With the new formation in 2007 in Pisa, Kalibandulu participates and wins their first contest at "The Final Battle Clas", but then also the "Kill or be Killed" sound clash in Catanzaro and in the same year the first national Tag Tem Clash in Martignano in combo with Northern Lights from Udine.
To these three cups in November 2008, Dj Moiz wins the first "Jugglin'War" at Magnolia in Milan, a title that rewards the fastest and most creative dj in the mixing techniques.
When Bob Fire leaves the group to dedicate himself to other music projects, Kalibandulu enlisted as a new Mc Don Leo from Surbo.
Kalibandulu is now one of the most well-known sound of all over Italy and is performing at various European clubs and festivals thanks to the release of a series of mixtapes called "Jugglin 'from Mars" where all their remixes have been collected since 2006, four volumes have been published to date.
In September 2009 Dj Moiz performs in several clubs in Florida and in Miami, along with Champion Squad, and joins the other Tag Team Clash, this time against Killa Face and Big Life, bringing home the first international sound cup.
Kalibandulu lands in the U.S.A. In 2010, Dj Moiz is invited to join the Shadyville Carribean Djs roaster, an international crew formed by DJs and personalities of the world Hip Hop and Dancehal headed by dj Who Kid; later in 2011, guests of Black Chiney, they play in many of Miami's most popular parties and the following year, 2012, Kalibandulu produces together with Eccentrix Sound the official mixtape of emerging Jamaican artist Tommy Lee Sparta.
In 2013 Kalibandulu publishes their first riddim called "Sweet Aroma" along with PrinceVibe from Florence with important collaborations by artists such as Demarco and Million STylez.
In the Summer of 2014 they organize the tour with Walshy Fire of Major Lazer / Black Chiney in many Italian cities including Gallipoli where with the entourage of Parco Gondar they creates their official brand for events called Kawabonga.
From the Tour there was born a collaboration between Kalibandulu and Walshy Fire, where the official remix of "Dem Nuh Bad Like Me" by the growing artist Gully Bop is released for Jamaican 21 Hapilos and Claim Records labels collecting a great success among lovers of Future Dancehall.
On January 30 2015, they released their second riddim called "Done Out" with the participation of artists such as Mr.Lex, Alozade; Million Stylez, G Mac, Ninja Kid, Hollow Point, Timberlee, Da Professor, Khemistry, Frankie Sly and Proopa Fade.
In March of the same year, Kalibandulu and the Greeks Kush Electricity produced Vybz Kartel's "Punaany a mi Best Friend" remix for the Jamaican label SoUnique Records.
In July 2015, Kalibandulu and Walshy Fire are again on Tour to perform on the stages of the biggest festivals in Italy and Germany, returning to studio with Walter Suray, a dubstep producer, to release a new single called "Tun It Up" by Mr. Lex for the label Truman Records from Turin.
At Parco Gondar in Gallipoli, in the summer of the same year, Kalibandulu takes part in one of the most important events of Summer, the Day Off Music Festival, alongside Major Lazer, Sud Sound System and Ensi.
The new album of the singer Million Stylez, released on October 16, called "Revelation Time" includes the single "The Struggle" produced by Kalibandulu on the rhythm "Sweet Aroma" and on October 23 they published their new single "Intense" by singer The Kemist that is a planetary success.
Kalibandulu in May 2016 starts collaborating with Big Fish's "Doner Music" label publishing the single "Body Bag" performed by Richie Loop distributed by the international music group of Future Dancehall Flex Up Crew.
The first EP of Kalibandulu "JFM EP 0.1" is released on June 14, 2015 for Doner Music / Flex Up Crew with collaborations by artists such as Stylo G, Khemistry, Ruxell and others.
A new collaboration with Walshy Fire in January 2017 bring to the release of the official remix of the Jamaican Alkaline hit "12 pm" for the Japanese label Medz Music and thanks to this success Kalibandulu flies to Los Angeles to attend the first party of the " label Flex Up with dj Yungg Trip, Bad Royale, Two Seven Clash and Walshy Fire.
In October 2017, a new milestone is reached by Kalibandulu, the remix of "buscando huellas" by Sean Paul and J Balvin, combined with Pink Panda, is included by Major Lazer in their EP "Know No Better Remixes".
A new project is currently underway between Kalibandulu and the label of the platinum album artist Salmo, Machete Crew, which will lead to the release of a mixtape along with dj Slait for the national tour.


How would you describe your influences and how have they changed over the years?


Kalibandulu express the most of jamaican reggae & dancehall culture since 1999.
We are known worldwide for our powerful live DJ performances, compelling remixes, flawless studio productions, and signature style (“Jugglin’ From Mars“) mix CDs characterized by seamless blending of the latest reggae and dancehall, as well as other internationally embraced, urban new genres (Future Dancehall, Trap, BassHall, Hip-Hop, Moombah , Etc…).
Everythings changed over the years, yes, at the start we was sounding more as Reggae, Dancehall sound system now the sounds is more electro/dancehall, less dubplates in our live sets but more remixes, originals kalibandulu songs and real artist stage show!


What´s new right now?


Yeah right now, on the international side, we are working on our next singles to realease with our new born label Flex Up Records, but we have alot of songs ready for others big labels, like "Walshy Fire Presents" or the new Bad Royale "Rude Mood Records", we also just released the official remix for Major Lazer of J Balvin and Sean Paul "Buscando Huellas" !!
We also have a big project for italian fans called "Digital Jungle" produced with DJ Slait of Machete Productions one of the biggest italian hip hop labels!
