Kaometry records

Please tell our readers who you are and what you do?

Founded in London in 2007, Kaometry AKA The geometry of chaos is an independent label based in Berlin (Germany).
Following its multicultural genesis, Kaometry dedicates itself to the promotion of non-conformist, innovative and eclectic music.
That was for the official description. Now what i m doing concretely? Well finding and promoting artists, putting and coordinating people together, choosing artistic directions, organizing events, DJing and finally producing music.

How would you describe your influences and how have they changed over the years? Do you feel that changing tastes over years as artistic growth? ?

I grew up during the 90’s. My main influence at that time was Hip-Hop, Trip-Hop, Electronica, Hardtek and Hardcore. I got into Warp records and all his derived labels (Rephlex, Planet-Mu, Ninja Tune for the biggest). Through the time the Hardtek and Hardcore got left behind, and went further into complexed and non binary rhythmic. UK is the best place for that. They have such a break culture – unlike Europe where its mainly Techno based music. Nevertheless, when i moved to Berlin, i discovered of city full of possibility which allowed me to develop Kaometry to a recognized International Label.
Even if i put Kaometry into an eclectic label, and tried to produce many kind of music, i got more and more into Hard Idm, or melodic Breakcore
10 years later, i start slowing down a bit i guess. can not stay full on all the time.
How to i discover new artists? I think my main source has been Soundcloud.

What´s new right now?

For the 10 years of the label, a couple of events are programed. First one in Barcelona on the 23rd of September, and then in Berlin on the 14th of October with Abstrakt Reflections (label based in Argentina).
A couple of vinyls too. A 12″ EP from Flint Kids which should be released at the end of the year. And a double 12″ compilation which has been delayed for the beginning of the year.
A digipack CD from a new artist Pakun Jaran from France, which will contains a lovely booklet with illustration from Darkam.
Finally working an a couple of digital release too.
So yeah, i ll be quite busy until the end of the year.
