Hi Everyone!
My name is Kenny Murdoch, I'm a DJ and Producer from Glasgow, Scotland. I have always had a passion for music throughout my life and coming from Scotland we always had an abundance of great venues and artist's playing in the UK when I was growing up. My first taste of electronic dance music was when I attended Inside Out at the world famous night club The Arches seeing the likes of Scott Project, Yoji Biomehanika and Lady Dana to name a few. After this I was hooked too the scene and in 2012 I had decided I was going to enrol in a DJ course in Edinburgh. After attending the course and many long hours practicing I had managed to secure a venue to run my own club nights in the Capital with a couple of close friends which ran successfully for a year or two. Along with running my own clubs nights I was also given the chance to support some top artist's along the way like Prok & Fitch, TV Noise, and Tony Romera to name a few.
After a few years of playing on a host of club nights and running my own, I really wanted to learn how to produce music like some of my favourite artists at the time and with some help from friends and a load of online tutorials I had managed to start releasing some music. In 2014 I managed to get my first track signed by Burnk digital and supported by Daniel Portman which helped the track into beatport's top 100 minimal chart which was a dream start. I was a huge fan of Daniel Portman's work and was amazing to have his support. Since releasing my first track I knew I still had a mountain to climb and a mass of knowledge to learn to get signed to my favourite labels and to be releasing music regularly, thats when I had met my good friend Stephan Kirkwood Trance DJ/Producer and Founder of Skapade Studios who has helped me progress as an artist over the last few years and I love the work the whole team does over at Skapade.
2017 has been my biggest year to date and seen me release music on a number of major Australian Labels such Hungry Koala Records, Psymal Records and Orkestrated's own label DarkSound Recordings, working with a host of talented Australian producers such as Future Not Found, ShortRound, Nick Henley and Jarrod withers. With a number of the tracks hitting Beatport's top 100 minimal and hard techno charts this year.

How would you describe your influences and how have they changed over the years?
I like to think I have a wide taste and appreciation for most genres of music, as I have always said, good music is good music. As a DJ I was used to playing most forms of EDM at my club nights but I have always has a passion for Minimal Techno after hearing artists like Avrosse, Daniel Portman, Louie Cut and Droplex a number of years ago. Which has now seen me focus primarily around the minimal and techno scene in and around Australia which has been a very vibrant scene over the last few years.
What´s new right now?
Well at the moment I am currently working on a couple of official remixes from Naylo's album Spirit Molecule which will see the two remixes be released in early 2018. On top of that I have been working on my first Psy project with an extremely talented producer from my hometown called JMW. It's something we have both been working on passionately and cant wait to show everyone in the new year. For gigs I am hoping to be playing at some events next year including Thurso and Milton Keynes for people wanting to find out more about myself, music and where you can find me play head over to my facebook page to stay up to date.
