Please tell our readers who you are and what you do?
Hello everybody! I'm KIZE and I'm a dj/producer from Barcelona, Spain.
I was born in 1997, so that means I'll turn 21 soon.
For as long as I can remember, I was surrounded by electronic musical influence from my cousin, which at that time was a well known DJ in Catalonia. I can also remember falling asleep to the radio thousands of times!
By 2009 I was already mixing tracks in my computer with a program that a whole generation of djs have started their career with, yes, I'm talking about Virtual DJ. But it wasn't until October 2012 when I started going to clubs and met a guy who claimed to be a producer. We talked for a while and he showed me some of his remixes, I loved them! Later that same day I was listening to "Sebastian Ingrosso, Alesso – Calling" and thinking to myself "Damn I want to be like these guys!" and then I said "If that guy is my age and can make remixes like that, so do I" and that was when I decided to download FL Studio.
Funny part about all this is that later on I found out that guy was stealing other people remixes… but hey! I'm glad I met him because that made me download FL and therefore I became a producer!
Since then all kind of stuff happened to me and I've been adquiring production experience and learning how to move in the EDM industry. I did that for 5 years under a different name but I ended that episode of my life by the end of 2017 while giving birth to my new project "KIZE". In this project I'll be giving my 110% and putting in practice everything I've learned during my journey by reaching my actual goal of beeing a gamechanger and create a unique style in all the mainstream genres of the electronic dance music such as Future Bounce, Future Bass, Groove House, Progressive House and many more!
How would you describe your influences and how have they changed over the years?
I mean, you can't really see much for now, but as I release my new stuff you'll definately see some inspiration from tracks of people such as Stonebank for my melodies, or the little details on the mutes in a very similar style of what Eptic does and even some drums in the style of DROELOE. But all that adapted in my own style to more mainstage genres such as Future Bounce or Progressive House. All the people mentioned before are extremely talented people in which I see reflected my own style. That doesn't mean I just copy them, don't get me wrong! Sometimes it happens a funny thing, you found somebody that makes similar decisions in music making and I think those guys are like the next level of some parts of my production style.
When I started making music I was really moved by the stuff Afrojack made with all the Dirty Dutch movement and I was absolutely in love with the melodies Alesso made, but even though I still like the music they put out, I don't feel like I identify myself with their music anymore. But thats a normal thing, the industry changes, their taste changes, my taste changes… And I can definately say that I've grown up musically speaking, as before I used to just listen to EDM radio stuff, but I discovered a whole world of unknown but extremely talented artists like for example K?D, and also a bunch of music genres I wouldn't even imagine they existed if I didn't found out about them! And I'm not just talking about electronic music, I love to listen to jazz, and some contemporary rock and indie stuff like the music Explosions In The Sky does.
What´s new right now?
A couple of days ago I uploaded a remix of the song "You & I" by Mike Williams and Dastic and I submited it to the remix contest they are hosting at Spinnin' Records. So far it's doing great! In just 3 days it got more than 3k plays and lots of comments, likes and reposts! I also made it to the top 20 in the votes ranking out of more than 800 people and I couldn't be more grateful for all the people that supports my passion.
In terms of upcoming music I have a bunch of fresh stuff ready to send to labels so we'll just have to wait!
I'm also about to hit the 1k followers milestone on SoundCloud so expect something special!
There's one more thing I want to announce to every dj or producer out there! I'll be mixing soon a one hour lenght session for the number 1 EDM radio station of Spain, Maxima FM. So if you want me to support your remix, original song, mashup, whatever… just send it to my promo mail!: kizeofficial@gmail.com

Are you a superfan of anyone? How did you become a superfan? Do you remember how you become a fan and what turned you into super fan? Have you ever thought about why you´re such a fan?
I'm definately an unconditional fan of Porter Robinson's work. He is such a big inspiration, this guy changed completely the EDM scene without even doing what people understand for EDM.

What was the biggest mistake you made when you started making music and what would be the number one tip you could give to a newcomer musician?
I guess that being impatient was my newbie mistake. When you start you have 0 idea of how things work and it really takes a bit until you see what everybody else is doing and how. When I started I had obviously pretty poor musical production skills and my music was bad, as everybody when they start. But the problem was that I kind of spammed my thing in facebook private messages to famous people and sent it to big labels. Fortunately for me I stopped doing that really soon as I realized it might have been anoying. The thing is that I see lots of people, some of them have been in the industry for a long time, doing this mistake, they just send you a friend request on your private socials, you don't even know them, and boom first message it's spam and in most of the cases it's not even good stuff. If you don't get attenttion with your music you just have to keep at it and improve so you don't need to spam to get plays!

Do you have insights on how to grow your audience on soundcloud that you want to share with our audience?
Just be yourself on your socials like Instagram, Twitter and Facebook. Be nice and supportive to other people so then when you need their help they'll be there for you and then their friends will notice you. From there it's just the snowball effect!

How do you personally discover new music?
I usually go to the likes of the artist I like that I already know and from there find new artists and go to their likes. That way I'm always discovering new talented people! Sometimes I just let youtube or soundcloud play the recommended tracks and the majority of the time it surprises me with some really good stuff.

Once you discovered new music, do you tell others about the new music/artist you discovered? If yes, how exactly?
“Well, hmmm not really hahaha! Sometimes I do. And almost always I share them with my close friends. But, although it might seem a bit greedy or selfish, the true behind why I don't really like to share it to the world it's cause that way when I do a mix or a session people wouldn't expect at all the tracks I play and that way music is way more enjoyable. That reminds me to how before the internet hera, people went to one club to se one dj because of the the songs they had. Because before in one area only a few could buy the same vinyls! But today everybody has everything on their usb so it's really less magical and I really think that's one of the reasons why club industry is now worse than before in some places.
With that being said, I use to upload videos on my instagram of tracks I find and I really like and if someone asks me for the name of an specific song, I usually tell to them.

What is your number one tip to improve your music production or songwriting skills?
To sound clean and loud, it's not just about the mastering as most of the people believes!
For me the mixing it's the most important part of production if you want your track to get to the next level. You should put every sound in a different mixer channel and a eq on each one minimum. Remember to cut lows where you don't need them but don't forget to do the same with the high frecuencies! If you do that you'll immediatly increase the headroom you have to push your track with a limiter and sound louder!!
