Please tell our readers who you are and what you do?
Hello! my name is Knoet
I'm a 21 y/o Drum and Bass Dj from Antwerp, Belgium. I mainly focus on technical DnB mixed with jungle, halfbeat, breakbeat, liquid and neurofunk. I started playing because I wanted to show the basscommunity in the Flanders, which viewes DnB as only jump-up and neurofunk, the complete spectrum of DnB and how great a gerne it is!
How would you describe your influences and how have they changed over the years?
In discovered Drum and Bass at the age of 14 when a couple of friends showed me a few songs. I instandly liked the energy it brought, along with the dark vibe it gave. In the beginning I mainly followed the 'big room' artists such as: Chase and status, Camo and Krooked, Loadstar,…
As I dove more into the music, I discovered more artists and my prefference shifted to jump-up and later to all the other subgenres. Today I really like the darkness Drum and Bass brings. That instant moodchange when you walk into a DnB party and that perfect mixing technique of the pro's that keep you in that mood all night.
Some of the pro's I really like at the moment: Skeptical, Alix Perez, Sam Binga, Mefjus, Posij, Enei, ect. The list goes on and on.
What´s new right now?
In februari we've got an party planned with a DnB room. I'm working on a couple of promosets with different moods going from very dark to very mellow. I'm also looking forward to a couple of local gig's I'll be playing after I finnish my exams and I'm actually thinking about starting writing my own songs.
