Please tell our readers who you are and what you do?

Hello Traxx24 readers! My name is Jakub Svoboda and I make music under nickname LIBERTAE. I am from Prague, Czech Republic and I have been making music since I was around 12-13 years old, I played both acoustic and electric (before someone stole it from me) guitar, then I started DJing and around 2012-2013 I started producing in FL Studio. I run a micro-label called HyperBeam Records with my friend and also I am a part of two music collectives (RARE DIVISION and THUNDER MXB). Aside from music, I like to take photos or create some graphic art (that I later use for albums/songs) and I have also made a few music videos. You can watch them on my youtube channel. In the near future I am planning to release a new album and also I have 3 collab EPs in the process and some music events in Prague with my friends soon.

How would you describe your influences and how have they changed over the years?

When I was a small kid, I had a walkman and a few cassettes I remember I had a Michael Jackson tape and a Lou Vega tape, then I received a Linkin Park tape and it really got to me. It was so alternative at the time (meteora and pre-meteora), but soon I started listening to more rap music like Eminem, Snoop Dogg, 50Cent, Dr.Dre.. Then I had a phase when I was after a break-up and started listening to Nirvana. I bought an acoustic guitar and started learning Nirvana songs (at this time we formed a band with my friends at highschool where I played the guitar). Then I started listening to psychadelic rock like Jefferson Airplane or The Doors. Later I started listening to drum and bass, then dubstep and that's probably when I got the idea to make electronic music. I really liked old dubstep artists like Skream, Digital Mystikz.. I started DJing and played their songs. Then I started listening to trap instrumentals (like Hucci, I remember All Trap music channel on Youtube). And then I discovered Yung Lean (Sadboys) and Bladee Gravity Boys/Shield Gang/Drain Gang and Bones and TeamSesh, and I was so amazed by this new sound and I started making beats influenced by all of these artists and their producers (Yung Gud, whitearmor, Yung Sherman, GREAF, catsoup, drip-133, drew the architect,..) I mentioned and many more. I really love Bones's side projects surrenderdorothy & oregontrail and Greaf's legendary guitar instrumentals so I was amazed to later discover GBC and Lil Peep (so sad he passed away </3 :((( ). Also I have to mention BLANK BANSHEE, that guy is a GENIUS. So to sum it up, I think my influences have changed over time, but at the same time my music is inspired by all those artists listed above and many more and also my surrounding (my mom always makes up melodies and sings when Im around haha <3). By the way, I enjoy listening to classical music as well (Rachmaninoff, Beethoven, Mozart, Bach and many others).

What´s new right now?

Right now I am working on my 3rd studio album. Title and cover art will be soon up on my social media channels. The album will feature a lot of my friends who produce music. Recently I have worked with deadalive, Mordant Genesis, SUCHY, scvmm, CUR$E, SIMULATE, Drxwn, Cxsmo, Rain Hologram and these days Im trying to work with my friends on 3 EPs and featurings from Froscity, PLURBS, Angry Tableflip, DJ Poiz, Falinee, UNKNOWN and others (Drxwn again <3). We have also agreed to work together with DEATHTOLL, Mesio, nathin, clipped, Polygone, jstab, DVRX, Lukebike, PLEASEBEOKAY and Cxsmo again. I would also like to work again with everyone I have worked with before and hopefully also many new people (for example with people from FOUNT)! Me and my friend OJ have a side-project called Arpanet and we recently agreed we would also make a collab soon. Hopefully I will also get to work with Ba:zel, duo of great people and musicians from Czech Republic. As for live gigs, we are currently planning 2 gigs, both in Prague, Czech Republic. One with my Prague friends (Angry Tableflip, CUR$E, Ba:zel, Ida Elastic, bilejkluk) and the other with DJ Poiz and Thunder Mob collective. I also want to shoot new videos for songs from my upcoming album.

Thank you everyone who supports me, it means a world to me <3
