My name is Esmé I’m 18 years old and I’m from a small town in Scotland called Lockerbie. I go by the name Lil Esmo. I was first introduced to songwriting back in 2012 when I was first diagnosed with depression. I was told it would be a good coping mechanism but after a couple of attempts I just gave up. In 2017, my boyfriend introduced me to artists such as 93feetofsmoke and Velvetears and it gave me the inspiration to try making music again to help myself, and it did. After writing how I feel down on paper and being able to turn it into a song I’ve felt a million times better within myself and I would 100% recommend anyone who has a passion for music to try it.
What do you do?
I write over beats other artists have produced. I’ve worked with people such as, Datboidj, Yusei, Virus and Eyerises. They’re all amazing and I totally recommend checking them out! I’m always keen to do collaborations with any other artist that’s interested. As I mentioned before, I mainly write as a coping mechanism for my mental health issues and I urge anyone who feels like shit to try and do the same as me because I promise it helps.
What´s new right now?
I’m currently in the process of writing my EP which will hopefully drop before summer so make sure you check that out. My newest project was with Eyerises and we’re planning on releasing that soon with a music video so that’s pretty exciting. I’m also hoping to get some video work done for my first two songs and get them up onto YouTube.
