MITT MUSIC

Check out and share our MITT MUSIC Interview. This interview is part of our new Producer & Engineer Q&A Series. In this interview series we feature exciting producers, mixing and mastering engineers from all walks of life. As always: Share & Support!

Please introduce yourself real quick. Tell our audience about your background and how you go into doing what you´re doing right now.

IT ALL STARTED IN MICHIGAN!!!! Im originally from Grand Rapids, Michigan. Music seemed to be the only constant throughout the years. Being in band and orchestra from an early age helped with my current journey. There are also not many people from my side of the state that have been recognized for their talent…grand rapids has a tendency to be a retirement home and black hole. Plus when you tell people your from Michigan they automatically say "oh you mean 8 Mile!?" I was determined to change that in a real way! Moving to New Jersey I have spent lots of time in NYC and the surrounding areas making that a reality and learning from where some of the greatest music has come from. Because of how the current climate has progressed I have decided to take the independent route to sustain the quality and take out any possible outside limitations. I like to keep it simple! Music for the Emotions!

Please tell our audience what projects have you been working on in the last years?

Since 2015 Ive been self producing my own projects and artists in my camp. From IceO to Spenser Sterling! Crafting the type of music the artists wants and sees fit for their supporters. This mentality came out of necessity really. Working with artists over the last few years has been very eye opening in that they were always asking for a beat to sound like someone else, or a song to sound like something on the radio. Even thought there is nothing wrong with this if this is an artists only interest but it didn't line up specifically with the Mitt Music brand. So over the last year I have released projects for IceO, an artist in the Tri-State area, Spenser Sterling who is also from Michigan and an artist who is in Paris named Natasha Julian. These projects range from Hip-Hop, RnB and Pop!

What are you currently working on? Do you accept clients and and what kind of projects/work fits your profile?

IceO is also a Mitt Music produced artist! His breakout project Uncertainty was released Valentines day 2017.
The beautiful thing about being independent is you can do virtually anything you want when you want. Spenser Sterling is on the move once again and SOTG 2 is being crafted as we connect. That being said there is a lot of time and energy spent on projects of passion. That doesn't mean new artists and creatives aren't welcome. Mitt Music has been working mostly on Hip-Hop, RnB and Pop recently but are willing to access any vision and see how we could add to that or help bring it to life!
